Well we sure do have bad luck when it comes down to playing Blackburn on the road. Previously it was Baros and Carragher who picked up their injuries against Blackburn and this year it's  Cisse. Very unfortunate for Cisse to pick up an injury and I hope that he has a speedy recovery.

With both Pongolle and Cisse injured we only have one worthy striker,Baros. Who Rafa will buy nobody knows, Morientes will propably be linked with us until January as Mista signed a new contract with Valencia.

Personally I did not expect Blackburn to get a point out of this game but nor did I expect for them to play without giving up a fight.

A well scored goal by Riise gave us a boost but then due to sloppy defending we ended up trailing 2-1.

Josemi,Hyypia and set pieces were my concerns through out the game.

At the very begining of the season Josemi looked like a very solid defender but recently he has been disapointing and hasn't had a good game in a while. He needs to relax a bit more otherwise he will get sent off more often. He allowed players to get past him too many times in this game.

Hyypia was even a bigger disapointment. He has given the ball away alot recently and this time it bit us in the ******. His poor pass gave Blackburn a 2-1 lead. He was great for us in the past years, but this season he has looked poor by his standards. Come January we need a player better than Hyypia because this sort of thing will continue to happen.

Everytime there was a free kick or corner for Blackburn I was worried about our zonal marking system. We almost let a goal in from a free kick late in the game so we need to make this weakness our strength.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------

Alonso continued to control the midfield. He has excellent vision and I am eager to see how he will play alongside Gerrard.

Baros has a bad habbit of playing with his head down as we all know  BUT he is starting to score more. He is our top goalscorer with 7 goals so far ; 4 in the Premiership, 2 in the League Cup and 1 in the Champions League. I hope that he continues to bang in the goals because it will help his confidence and us as well.

After 60 or so games without scoring Riise scored two goals in two games. He played very well for the most part in the game and I am looking forward to more cracking goals from JAR.

Luis Garcia made some great passes and he had chances of his own. Briliant player, great signing by Rafa. Carragher had a descent game,he should had done better at certain times.

Traore has improved and he has great potential of becoming a solid defender, he looks promising.

Overall a well hard earned point. A draw isn't as bad as some have said considering that in this type of game we would had lost a season ago. The important thing is that we are improving. 1 win, 2 draws, 3 looses, a descent away record, not all that horrible and a great home record. The next two games are at home and we need to pick up the points but it won't be a walk in the park.

Gerrard is looking to return quickly in order to play against Palace at home and if he does not return by then he will be ready for the fixture against Boro according to LFC.tv. We are now above Man Utd. who got walked over by Portsmouth today and Arsenal couldn't bounce back so the gap between us and them is still 9 points.

Statistics
Wins: 5
Looses: 3
Draws: 2
Goals scored: 16
Goals conceeded: 10
Position: 6th place

A lot of sensible comments. I also fear Hyypia will cost us many points. He was tailor made for defensive Houllier football, but now when we try to push forward more Hyypia has to cover more space and his weaknesses just lets him down all the time. And the Cisse injury is terrible news for LFC. It looked like we were on the right track, but this will be a big setback for Benitez. My best guess is Harry Kewell as a strike partner for Baros. And I pray Benitez can get Morientes on loan with a buy option in january.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

I don't like to critisize the players. It will most likely be Luis Garcia to be up front with Baros rather than Kewell. We have always needed another striker from the start of the season and now we need one more than ever because of injuries.

I hope that our midfield can continue to score and get Baros[and whoever his new partner will be] to bang in the goals. Benitez is keen on the midfield scoring a lot so maybe this is not as bad as it seems.
