Knew about Nelson, was unaware of the Branson connection however when this went sailing past one afternoon I did  wonder "Whose the lucky kunt that owns that"

I Blame it all on Tubular Bells   :(

And for those of you that haven't travelled, NO ! it's not a Ferry Boat, it belongs to some lucky B'stard who now and again swans around on it.

Brad Pitt to film his zombie blockbuster in Cornwall
Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Western Morning News

A multi-million pound Hollywood blockbuster starring Brad Pitt is to be filmed in waters off the Westcountry coastline.

Work has already begun on the zombie thriller movie World War Z with Falmouth next in line as a filming location.

Scenes have already been shot in Malta where the 47-year-old actor’s partner Angelina Jolie and the couple’s children visited him on set.

Business leaders in Falmouth said the movie would generate extra income for the harbour town while creating an “almighty buzz.”

Movie powerhouse Paramount Pictures is behind the production and is looking for extras from the area.

While film chiefs were remaining silent about specific details, it is understood filming in Falmouth will take place onboard a ship.

Richard Gates, Falmouth’s town manager, said he had been in ongoing discussions with Paramount’s location and casting crews to work out the logistics of shooting in the town.

Cameras are due to begin rolling during the town’s annual sailing event, Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week, between August 6-14.

Mr Gates said: “This is a major coup for Falmouth and we’re pulling out all the stops to prepare for the influx of crew and cast.

“We’ve been working closely behind the scenes with Paramount Pictures and are working hard with regards to the necessary planning and permissions.

“With Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week taking place at the same time, there is going to be an almighty buzz.”

The film is based on the Max Brooks novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

Although set in Philadelphia, Glasgow has also been used as a backdrop.

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth Business Improvement District manager added: “This is such huge news for Falmouth and is set to boost the town’s profile and economy.

“It’s not every day that a Hollywood blockbuster rolls into town, with so many exciting temporary jobs, so we’re delighted to have been selected as a location and this situation illustrates the potential for similar future endeavours. I’m sure plenty of local people will be keen to get involved.”

Paramount is due to hold open casting sessions for extras to appear in the film at Truro School on Saturday and Sunday (16 and 17) from 10am-5pm in the gym. Sessions are free to attend and are open to those aged 16 and over.

Casting for children is set to be held at a later date.

Roles will be paid for and those involved may be asked to have their hair cut short.

The casting unit is also looking for members of the forces, fire brigade and RNLI and film crew support staff.

Anyone wishing to take part can also upload their details to www.maddogcasting.com.

might come an see ya, only about a 60mile swim from protaras  :D

Speaking of Protaras mate, I'm off there this summer with the missus and the kids....Should be hotter than a paedo in a playground, I'd imagine....

We're goin on aug 17th for 2 weeks, I'm told we'll be sweatin like rapist in a line-up  :D

Prepare to sweat, mate. It hit 40C while we were over in Cyprus....farkin' hell, you don't get that in Dublin !
Then there was the explosion at the naval base -> which knocked out the main power station on the island right next door to it -> which meant the hotel had no aircon -> and when you're tryin' to get some kip at night when it's 30C, it's no fun...

Mind you, 12 people lost their lives so one can't crib about it....

For the record mate, apparently it hit 49C in August last year - so enjoy that !  :D
