Try an IT forum/discussion board ;)
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but I cant find the Techy page ? ( please feel free to move )

I am having trouble with my laptop, I cant watch any videos at all on it, all it does is start to play for a second then buffer for a minute and it does that for the whole video. I have installed and re-installed Adobe over and over again I have even changed my laptop back its factory settings and started over and still no luck, it does the same with pictures to ( takes ages to load even the most simple of graphics ) I have not tried music files yet but I suspect the problem may still be the same. I am using Firefox as my browser ( never had a problem before with this ) but have also tried Google Chrome and I.E and still the same. At first I thought it was Youtube but even videos posted on Facebook wont play. I have deleted all cookies and all the rest of that time wasting rubbish but still nothing, even stuff like games on Facebook take ages to load ( I have installed and re-installed Java and made sure it is enabled in settings ).

Any ideas ?

Try uninstalling your flash player and install an older version, not the most recent.

Just tried that mate, used version 9 instead of the new 10.1 and still doing the same thing. Again tried it with I.E and through Firefox, it was working fine one night and then the next morning it just stopped ?

Have you installed anything else since it was working ok? Maybe try going back to an earlier version like 7 or 8.

I'm far from an expert - ask Sabre or someone, but sometimes when really stuck it's worth doing a clean install of the OS, generally gets rid of a lot of c'rap that's built up on your system and makes it run faster.

No not since it was working, only restored to factory settings after it had stopped and I had tried to re-install Adobe in an attempt to fix it

Are the problems just online or with files on your actual hard drive as well that are taking a while to load?

If its online only it be that you are limited with the connection speed.

No video files on the hard drive to check ? The connection speed is OK, its running the same as it always has but videos have just decided to buffer every couple of seconds

You said you restored the factory settings, have you reinstalled any drivers ? If not it may be worth checking Windows Update for any you may have missed.
