Anyone else still depressed as ******?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby tubby » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:40 pm

Now I know we all had a smile on our faces at seeing Fernando lifting the world cup wearing  a Liverpool scarf but now that feeling has subsided and I can't help but feel depressed again. We are skint, have a :censored: manager and are no closer to being sold yet with our best 2 players yet to properly commit themselves.

I know I should be saying lets give Roy a chance but sorry if I don't feel that way. I couldn't see the scum, Arsenal, Chelsea or even City giving him a job. Probably not even the bitters!! Anyway for me his is still not good enough for LFC and I can't help but feel this is the start of some dark times for us... the only possible way out is if we are sold this year but at the moment that seems a long way off.

Anyone else feel the same? We have gone from beating Real Madrid in the CL and being linked with the likes of David Villa to qualifying for the Europa league and being linked with James :censored: Beattie.

This sucks

ps no disrespect to Roy calling him a :censored: manager but he just isn't in the same class as Rafa and the type of manager we should have gone for.

I dont feel depressed at all i just feel like I wanna punch the living daylights out of the b@stards in control of our club.

Other than that I feel surprisingly optimistic for some reason! Ive got faith in Roy. I can understand why a lot of people dont really have faith in him because he's just came over from Fulham an all but I think he is a man of common sense and that is what we have been crying out for.

Bav I'm not being funny mate, but that is a truly awful post. Whatever happened to walking on with hope in your heart, whatever happened to the Liverpool family whereby new players and staff get welcomed to the club? Jesus mate the guy hasn't even been in charge for one match yet, and you are absolutely certain that he's a worse bet than the guy who took us into seventh last season?

It's all opinions of course, but I'll tell you this mate. If anybody, and I mean anybody, had posted up something like that about the previous manager, calling him sh!t and the like there'd have been uproar on here. Not only that, but you'd have been at the front of the queue telling whoever it was they were a fecking disgrace.

I'm not going to go down that route mate, because you're entitled to your opinion. That's not one of your better posts though. The only thing which depresses me is the way our fans completely disrespect the new manager. That's depressing because for some silly reason I always thought we were different.

That's because the previous manager had some credentials coming into this job and the fans were not so much in uproar with the removal of the previous manager. I don't mean to disrespect him, im sure he is a nice guy but I think I will just have to be proved wrong rather than throw my backing from the get go.

We have world class players in our squad and we need a world class manager to keep them happy. IMO we don't have that. I don't see hwo he can take us forward. Of course this is just my opinion and it means :censored: all as none of us have even see us play under him yet. Just saying though...

Like the way you and S@int respected the previous manager Mick?

You post is equally as bad because you're trying to paste over your outrate hatred of Rafa and 20 posts of day screaming that from the highest mountain.

You know what, I'm excited as FOOK for the new season!!!!! I was absolutely depressed Christmas through to the end of the season and into the summer. It was horrible being in mid-season with absolutely nothing to play for, just the fear of not qualifying for the Champions League and the realization that I had lost all faith in our manager. I did a few away games but last season was the first time in 10 years that I haven't got up to Anfield. I'm fed up of being paralysed by the fear of losing Gerrard and Torres and am simply to going to run with whatever comes our way. I didn't particularly want Hodgson but I've got my head around it and I think he just might surprise a few people this season. I just want the new season to hurry up and start! Am in turkey for our first game against the gooners unfortunately but fancy i'll get up to Anfield at the earliest possible opportunity this time around.

I'm a pretty positive guy in most things and to be honest i've got a bit sick of the doom and gloom. I'd echo what Dalglish (Ian) said in another post, a malaise has spread over our fan base and we're all kinda wallowing in it. And if Big Niall cahn write some positive posts (i've noticed a few just lately) then so the bloody hell can I!

Course it may have all changed by November but then i'm fairly used to be out of the title race by then anyway!  :D

That's a joke before anyone jumps!

Bav I'm not goign to get into who is and who isn't a World class manager, where you would have expected a World class manager to finish with our squad last season etc etc, or how many trophies you would expect a World class manager to win etc etc. That's all been done to death.

Even if it is the case (and needless to say I don't think it is) that our previous manager was far better than Roy, it isn't our new managers fault is it? The vacancy came up, he applied and he got it. At that point, I stopped being depressed because I was and am confident he can improve on 7th. Under our previous manager, World class or not, I personally wasn't confident about anything by the end.

Reg that's not true and I suspect you know it. I had serious reservations about the previous manager after about three seasons, but I never said he was a sh!t manager, never called him the old FSW or any of that old nonsense. I'm not going to debate the whole thing again here because I'm bored of the whole subject, but my problems with the previous management were of a football nature, and I was more than happy to debate them at length with anybody who could be bothered (and by the end not many could I'll give you that).

Surely though you can see the difference between deciding overt a three or four year period that you have lost faith in a manager, and losing faith in him before he's even started? I'll tell you this, if me, S@int or anyone else had posted up some of the stuff which has been on here over the last month or so, we'd have got abused to kingdom come and banned for the privilage. That Reg is an absolute fact.

I never said Rafa didn't make mistakes last season but after Istanbul and our record points finish the season before last did he not deserve another season to turn it around? And you seriously think Rafa isn't a better manager than Roy? Why on earth then hasn't Roy had a big job like this all this time?

A great injustice has been done here and I still feel so bitter about it. At least under Rafa we had seen what he was capable off so there was always the chance he could turn it around.

I don't remember anyone moaning at all until last season, not least the season before last when we became the 1st team to not win the league after x losses ect...

So you had reservations about Rafa whilst we were in Athens or when we were beating Utd 4-1 in their own back yard? Come on Mick.

Look I can see already which way this debate is going to go. There'll be people piling in from all directions, throwing their hat into the ring and I';m not getting involved in it.

Just give the guy a chance that's all I'm saying, and other than that I'll leave you all to it because like I say you can see exactly the way this threads going, it's not actually about the new manager, it's about the old one.

Like I say Bav, after three seasons. I'm not here though to talk about the previous manager, sorry mate but I can't be bothered. Check out the "Yossi lifts the lid" thread if you want an illustration of why I really can't be bothered with all that thanks. You go for it mate, but count me out.
