Its roy - Not woy

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Behoth Woofer, behoth!!! (I'm not sure if behoth is a word but it should be).

I know feck all about Shakespeare as you've probably gathered, but as the threads concerned we appear to have a bit of a stalemate. Those who think eeryone should call the new manager by his real name have dug their heels in, and those who like to use a "w" instead of an "r" have done the same. It's trench warfare. The rest of us, those in the "I don't give a feck what you call him" camp are in no-mans land in the middle. This isn't the modern demilitariesed zone, it's actually the bit where everyone shoots at you from both sides.

Whens the first game again?

Dead right. Did the previous manager ever say he was offended by the Fat Spanish waiter comments that some people apparantly used? S'Pose he must have given that people on here jumped up and down about it even though people didn't actually use it.

Long as we're being consistent, that's the main thing.

People can call players / managers whatever they want at the end of the day but has to be within reason.

Correct

My views on the manager havent changed one bit and wont until we see what happens in the season - a ball hasnt been kicked , a player hasnt been bought only players have left - at this point hodgson has done nothing so it could still go either way

All we have at the moment is opinions based on previous years and his previous records - some think they point to us improving as a club and some think they wont . Soon enough we will see either way.

Within reason? Well the previous manager was certainly both quite rotund and originated from the Madrid region of Spain I believe, so I can only guess he never earned a living serving tables with a cloth over his arm.

Depends what you call "reason" I suppose, and I do think it's important that everyone is allowed to set their own parameters. To me, where someone is from, what body shape they hae and what they did or do for a living was always irrelevent when discussing football, hence I never ever used FSW. Equally, someones speech impediment isn't relevent to me, so I don't use the "w". Each to their own though. No doubt those who do use it can justify it to themselves, which is all that matters really.

You can't operate a forum effectively if anything and everything goes. You have to have limits. It's why even under previous moderators members were suspended and banned; in a manner of speaking these members were asked to "conform", and if they didn't their posting rights were temporarily or permanently removed. The only question then is where the line is drawn.

Ok seeing as Im one of the main objectors Ill say this and shut the fu'ck up
Lets not kid ourselves it is a term of endearment or light hearted banter. Whoever calls him "woy" is taking the pi'ss. End of.
I am merely pointing out that its disrespectful to mock someone with a speech impediment. Especially if you support the club he manages and claim to be 100% behind him.
Anyways.
I am not against free speech but I am in favour of not offending people and would expect grown men (and women) to feel the same way. It is of course your personal choice to call the manager of LFC whatever you want, but only w@nkers would skit and try to undermine him before weve even kicked a ball.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
