Surely it's just light hearted and nothing worth it's own thread - surely it's the same as calling Dirk Kuyt - Derek ? Its just a light hearted bit of fun .

Really needed a thread to tell people what to call the manager? No. :no But that sums this forum up, some people take supporting LFC, this forum and THEMSELVES far too seriously. I find the RIPs every time someone you never even met rather sad, but this takes the prize for taking yourself seriously

Anyone telling people what to say or think should feck right off, it is supposedly a free country and this is only the internet, it isn't like people are calling him Woy to his face and he's told them not to. Plenty of people I know and one or two I work with PERSIST in calling me by the wrong name (albeit one letter), I don't start campaigns to stop them doing so even though I hate it....................

Exactly. Mods should delete this nonsense of a thread trying to tell people what they can and can't do or say. People should stop taking themselves so seriously with pet hates, not everyone is going to say things you always like or agree with so get used to it.

Wouldn't it be funny (no hints woof) if a mod edited the title and then closed the thread! I think that would be apt respect of a thread that deserves none. There is a saying you have to earn respect, apparently Woy doesn't have to earn it, we are told to give it simply because of what position he now holds.

Oh and double standards, I see no respect for the OWNERS or indeed PURSLOW. I guess Purslow shares the same birthday as Owen so maybe that is justification indeed. Add disrespect of past servants/legends of LFC like Owen and Souness, as if they are spoken of without disrespect

listen you moron, Owen screwed up over when he joined Man Utd. that's justification to call him anything under the sky.

and the Owners are bleeding us dry. if you wanna do a comparison, at least make sure they make sense and are not distinguishable.

Roy has done NOTHING against our club so stop being such a childish overgrown baby. if something inflammatory was said against Kuyt's style of play, you and GYBS would flare up and bring up all kinds of stats and 1000s of questions. really like a gun - one c0ck one you'll blow.

No more Woy digs please.  We are LFC not Chelsea

Agreed Taff, I think the humour side of the 'W' jokes has been done to death.

He's just started as our manager and he deserves our respect. There'll be plenty of bitters and mancs slagging him off because he's got a speech impediment, which is fairly pathetic anyway. His name is Roy.

'Woy' is not necessarily an indication that he doesnt have our support, its just a name. Its not offensive, everyone calls him 'Woy'. I thought it was funny when Ciggy replaced every 'r' with a 'w' when he was appointed

anyway he certainly has my support 100%, I quite like the idea of him being manager now, though I admit I found it hard at first but now it feels more fresh and exciting, I cant wait to see who he signs and then get the season going

Good luck Woy

So what your saying now Greavsie is your calling him Woy as a term of affection? I just don't get that mate, he's the manager of our football club and it doesn't seem to afford him much respect. I'm sticking with Roy.

That could be so Andy. Personally it doesn't bother me either way. Roy doesn't read this forum I shouldn't think, and if people don't believe in him or want to say his name differently, I don't think it really matters.

I certainly won't be telling anyone to "feck off and support somebody else", or telling them they are a "fecking disgrace", or accuse them of hoping against hope that the team they support will lose so that they can be "proven right". Neither, if somebody says they disagree with a team selection will I ask them where they live, or what they do for a living, or tell them that as they don't manage a professional team themselves their opinion is by definition a load of sh!t.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on a football forum, they always were. I'm confident that even those who have the gravest of reservations about our new manager, those who insist on typing his name wrong and disrespecting him before he's had a game in charge will actually get behind him and the team in the ground and in public. They won't be secretly hoping Roy doesn't succeed and the team loses so they can say " we    told   you    so" . I know some of them have said that already, but I'm sure they are just getting it out of their system.

Good post.

In my opinion there was a lot more reasons to question Rafa than to follow him blindly, but I never thought that the latter were any less of a 'proper' supporter than myself.
Rafas history and will never be coming back, so lets get behind the current manager and look forward with a bit of optimism.
Hopefully new owners will be in place soon and harmony can be restored behind the scenes and the manager can do what hes supposed to do and build a team that can compete while entertaining us week in week out in return for our support and hard earned cash!

no, I didnt say that at all. What I'm saying is that calling him Woy does not suggest support or disgust for him, thats all
