I have my preferences but I'll get behind whoever is manager next season because I want to see my team do well. That's one of the reasons Liverpool fans are different from the rest.

Soy, but if Roy Hodgson takes over at this club, I'm boycotting.

it must be great to be able to pick and choose when to support your football team.

:no

What the f*ck has the word "boycott" got anything to do with picking and choosing? I'm already boycotting all merchandise. Matches are the next, and after that, stop watching on TV. I'll concentrate on putting some of my effort into supporting other causes like getting rid of the leeches. Crystal?

ok, and what efforts will these be?

Because, reading between the lines, your attitude is 'feck this, liverpool aren't looking too great, i'm off'

Also, I really do believe that if Hodgson was asked to do the job he wouldn't be pleased if he was subsequently told by the owners that Gerrard and Torres must be sold and that he wouldn't be seeing a penny of it. He'd come here to do the job to the best of his abilities and that would mean trying to keep hold of our best players and if not, to replace them as best as possible. There's no obvious reason why he wouldn't fight for the best interests of the club he's at.

I'm not his no.1 fan but he doesn't deserve some of the deep cynicism that's been directed his way.

Bang on.

Any manager who's going to be coming in (Roy is far from bolted on) is going to be very careful about the Gerrard/Torres situation. They'll know that those players are key to an immediate future success at Liverpool and will be extremely reluctant to leave their present positions to preside over a team of fire-sale objects, end up looking like a numpty and let go into the wilderness after a reduced side falls apart at the first hurdle.

I notice all the people who are screaming for our support to get behind the new manager , are the very same ones who were screaming for the last managers head . So support is unconditional now is it , but only when yer feel like hey . THE LIVERPOOL WAY MY @RSE .

Tell yer what mate , lets just see how much support roy gets and for how long . Your probably right about Rafa , but the way people spoke about him on here and other forums was a disgrace . Poor roy hasn't got a leg to stand on . Unless we see finishing 6th with rafa 's team as a success now.I can see it now  "well he did a better job than rafa did " totally forgetting the five previous season's before hand . Look i'll give roy my total support like i have every liverpool manager , but i'm telling you now mate . The way are fanbase is now , there's alot that will expect alteast 4th place . There's no realism anymore .

Reading through this thread uts amazing how the so called antis and pros have switched perspectives on the issue and the pros are being criticised on the exact same grounds the antis were. Its absolutely laughable how some people are saying that supporting the manager is and absolute necessity and no bad word should be said. I feel like finding some quotes by those people about what they said about Rafa. Hypocrisy at its finest  :no

the same people who wanted rafa made it very clear that it was for more than footballing reasons. I cannot find it in my head to defend sacking Rafa IN THE CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES we're in. Everyday's like a fooking nightmare for this club lately
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Rafa's gone.. it's the options now.. can anyone honestly say they are happy with the 'prospect' of hodgeson?

when our last manager (Hou) went.. there was a line of talented prospects.. look where we are now.

Hodgeson - nice guy.. much travelled.. but realistically if we wanna stop falling behind and remain as a 'big boy'.. we must be more ambitious with this appointment.. dare I say it, the next manager will be almost as improtant as Shanks himself..  blimey .. !
