I think its too easy to buy into some mad mans conspiracy theories. I don't think the american government make the issue any easier - they're never bothered about correcting rumours.

I believe that the yanks went to the moon. The equiptment they left is used to this day to make spacial measurements. E.g. they left high precision mirrors that they use now to bounce laserbeams onto to measure the distance of the moon from the earth. This is how they know the moon is moving away from the earth at a rate of 1 inch per year

sorry mate but thats b0ll0x.

if that was the case the NASA would prove it, but the only way it can be proved is for someone to get a huge telescope and look at the remnants on the moon

Yeah I've seen those photo's, the background, horizon line is exactly the same.

Infact those pictures with identical horizon lines were put on top of certain Roswell horizon lines.

And guess what....... thats right all three matched up perfectly. :alien:

I'm not sure about any of these conspiracies TBH.

They could be true or not.

But I wouldnt be surprised if the yanks did fake the moon landing, they were so deperate to beat the Russians to the moon to look like THE superpower, I could imagine them doing anything in there power to make it look kosher even staging it.

*cough* or using the mirrors for experiments and measuring the real distance between Moon and Earth, as has been done by several international universities, not just americans.

Again, all this conspirations theories are well debunked here, www.badastronomy.com. Including others that can be read by mail, such as an incoming impacting meteor, and more cráp like that.

About my CIA comment, THAT was bóllocks. I don't give a fúck about the JFK millions of theories, and the last one I heard was that one, but I didn't bother to check or investigate anti-hero, so you can send my comment directly to the thrash-bin. :)

Exactly I was watching the discovery channel the other day and there was some bloke from the institute of astronomy at cambridge talking of how they use the mirrors to this day to teach basic astronomy.

This is a good topic but the number of people who buy into conspiracy theories is ridiculous, your the same people who get done by subliminal messaging. You better hope Derren Brown doesn't get hold of you!

If there wasnt any believers in the conspiracies this wouldnt be such a good thread.

but i also watched discovery channel where they state that the only way to prove man was on the moon is to get a powerful enough telescope to see what was left there.

come on guys if man really walked on the moon why did they have to fake everything

The image on the left clearly shows the supposed 25,000 of thrust generated by the lunar Lander to arrest its descent. Yet in the image on the right, where is the giant crater this would have created?

Image

Another apparently inspirational image from the NASA archive. All seems fine at first but notice the numerous directions in which the shadows are falling (marked with arrows). This indicates that the image is probably composed of several images taken at different times (probably in a top secret studio guarded by specially trained aliens working as government agents) and joined together using advanced technology NASA always denies existed at the time.

Image

Not much wrong with this picture you may think. Yet, by thinking that, you would just become yet another of NASA's conspiracy victims.  Firstly, despite the absence of an atmosphere, no stars can be seen in the sky.  Secondly, the interior of the shopping basket can clearly be seen when all areas in shadow should be pitch black due to the absence of air molecules.

Image

Just way too many things wrong with this picture!

Notice the absence of stars again. The arrows indicate the various directions in which shadows are falling, again showing evidence of inconsistent scene illumination. Yet there is something even more obviously wrong with this picture.
If the length of the lower support column of the lunar lander was 4 feet tall, this would indicate that the astronaut was over 8 feet tall, which none of the astronauts were.

Image

Oh yes NASA, it's all very well adding stars on this picture just to make us realize how wrong we have been. We are not fooled so easily!  If we look a bit more closely, we spot the constellation of Pegasus with the planet Saturn (marked S1) clearly visible in the top left corner. Yet at the time of the mission, although Saturn appeared to be near Pegasus from Earth, from the Moon it would have appeared to be in a completely different position (marked S2).

Image

Well, with this image  where does one begin?  Inconsistent shadows, too much ambient light and incorrect planetary positioning in the sky are all evident here.  Also notice how the focal length of the camera lens has changed compared to the pictures above, even though the astronauts' Hasselblad cameras were only fitted with a single type of prime lens.

Image

Does Nasa really think we are idiots? This picture is an obvious fake, notice the artificial land forms and the absence of stars. The Nasa pole from which the flag hung has mysteriously multiplied in number.

Image

Is this for real? In this famous photo the Eagle Lander is shown returning to earth, but the biggest question about the event is left hanging. Who took the photo?

Image

This official Nasa picture of the moon shows some unusual features.

Note that the Sea of Tranquility is beside the Cambrian mountains and the absence of stars in the background.

After years of analysis this very clever attempt from Nasa to fool the public have been revealed. We are not a gullible as we were in the 1960's..
