who in your opinion was the most underrated player to ever play for liverpool? someone who was an unsung hero but never got the credit they deserved. i'm thinking along the lines of someone like a ray houghton for example. no doubt we have had many players who should have got more international caps than they did. who is your most underrated liverpool player that you can remember?

Gary Gillespie, Steve Nicol, Nigel Spackman, Rob Jones, Barry Venison, Sammy Lee, Phil Thompson....there's a lot of guys in our history who were excellent players but who never made the headlines as guys like Keegan, Dalglish, Rush, Fowler etc were getting all the plaudits.

Kevin MacDonald who was in the double winning side. He never even gets a mention anywhere, although i'm not saying he was great or anything. He had an excellent game against Everton in the '86 Cup Final.

kevin macdonald gets a lot of mentions and praise in hansens biography, he's praised for his performances for us over two seasons.
