Well and truly sold our soul? - Can it be true?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Apparently, the rumblings over at RAWK are that the HJC shop are not allowed to sell anything that has the Liverbird on it and have been told to remove the items for sale. Along with booing fans, and now this, I really fear for the direction that this club is heading in.

Say it ain't so.

I would think not, but that isn't the point. It's a serious slap in the face for those that died and it's disgusting if it's true.

oh I agree but it's not any reflection on the club though?

I mean, it isnt as though the club offically has been told it cant use the liver bird therefore lose out on merchendise and their identity. Not trying to be contraversal just didnt see how it was anywhere linked to the direction of the club

It's everything to do with the club. If the club's stance is that they now see the bird as their own and not the people's, and if they see it as a serious marketing mascot for them to make money for their own pockets, then they will see fit as to threaten anyone who is selling something as they see as their own and theirs alone. It's just corporate greed. F*ck who it affects and who it hurts is the mantra of such a mentality. It's a bad reflection on the club and the corporate direction it's now taking up. It's not a family owned club anymore, and we the fans are just cash cows.

It's stuff like this that makes me think giving up my season ticket in the Summer was justified.

How low can these scumbags get? This is the most shocking thing they have ever done, I am lost for words seriously.
HJC should say well we want the flame copywrited then LFC would have to remove it from the badge.

I am livid over this day by day my love for this club is dying.

On the Rattle, the shop has had to remove the scarfs with the badge, and the We Are Not English t-shirts. The swaggys by the ground and in town are next.

This probably is a stupid question, but what is a HJC shop? If some of you forgot, I'm from Belgium and we don't have them I think.

The Hillsborough justice shop its a charity that gives money to the victims of Hillsborough and their families.

The HJC shop shouldnt even excists but it does because our fans who support our club, died, or got seriously injured mentally and physically going to watch the team they loved.

LIVERPOOL FC.

And now LIVERPOOL FC. are telling a charity they cannot be using the clubs badge, talk about honouring the dead.

You are a disgrace Ayres, Gillet & Hicks.

If this is true (and lets face it, the club aren't exactly tripping over themselves to deny it) then this club has finally sold what little of it's soul was left.
What are they gonna do next? Charge the victims families an entrance fee to the memorial service each year? Charge for use of Anfield for the memorial service ???

I'm holding back my judgement for now but the club really need to pick up their heals on sorting out this latest fiasco.
