After a few hours of crying and moaning i am now in a pretty chilled and thoughtful mood.

I can see positives from this season;

Rafa has given everone a go, there is no doudt about that.  Youth players and fringe players included.

One person on this forum pointed out that you cant change peoples ways and style, therefor yes, when we scored we played a very defensive Houllier style of play.

We all know Gerrard is off in the summer, but a few quid in and a handful of new faces and maybe this sort of side could challenge on all fronts big style next season, led by a manager that has prooven qualities.

GK Think we need a new one for next season

RB    Maybe Finnan or maybe a new boy here.  He showed a lot of attacking adventure today compare to others.

CB  Carra

CB  Hyypia and new signing

LB  Riise is the best left back in the premier

RW  New boy please

CM  Haman still has one more year and if he could have a good preseason he would be ideal to protect the back four.

CM  Alonso  no doudt

LW  A good preseason and Kewell will be on fire, but only if he has a good preseason, otherwise a new boy here

Not sure about best LB in the premier, with Ashley Cole and Heinze around, but Riise is becoming one hell of a left winger. If there is something good to take out of the game it was his amazing volley, set up sweetly by Morientes.

Yep i think Gerrad scored his first goal for Chelsea today. He will be off in the summer  but in all honesty im really not bothered by it , just going by the statistics  we have won more games without him in the team .
Alonso as ive always said since early on in the season is a far better player than Gerrad and id prefer him any day  in midfield.
Riise is coming on leaps and bounds on the left , as is Finnan on the right , a new centre back is a definate  ,as is a central midfielder and right wing player . With the money received for Gerrad  ....30 to 40 million... we can get 4 world class players of out standing quality ,  and yes they may well come  from la liga  but lets face it , its a cheap market but has some amazing players , you only have to look at Alonso to see that .
