Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I've been going to Liverpool for 55 years...46 as a season ticket holder. I have been very fortunate to be a part of some of the greatest moments in our illustrious history but the game for me is dying...I know the birth of Sky introduced the game to a wider audience and brought in bucket loads of money and the chance to see live football on TV more often than the FA Cup final, European finals and the Home championships, but over the years the saturation of live games has watered my excitement of watching football on TV. I don't invest in Skysports anymore its definitely not worth the money or my time. The introduction of Var has all but destroyed in the moment enjoying a goal...Var is corrupt ...

This season has been tough... the football has been drab and hard to stomach at times ...we've had occassional moments of good play but it was so in frequent it felt like you were waiting for a bus on a cold and wet winters night desperate to get home.
I meet up with 10-12 people every game and I have felt if it wasn't for that I may have thrown the towel in, not because of Liverpool or Slot but because the game (the product) is a pitiful reflection of the football and the experience I loved. The greedy players the obscene money the most mediocre players get for little ability...the cost of tickets, the cost of final tickets accomodation , flights for away european games the lack of ticket opportunities for said finals for ordinary fans...the game is dying and unfortunately owners of clubs don't really care because if I give up my season ticket , they can sell my seat for 10 times the value to a weekend visitor.

There is one lad I meet up with, I say lad we are both in our mid sixies, ; we've been going to the game together for over 50 years on and off...started thumbing a lift as teenagers ...we even hitched a ride from start of M1 after a charity shield game...anyway I digress...this chap Pete is and always has been full on red beergoggles supporter of the Manager, any manager, stands up sings his head off ...has a go at anyone not giving the team its support...well he wants Slot gone..and if Pete doesn't give you his support then you are not worthy of the position of Liverpool manager.

Anyway rant over...only decided on a rant because I have been doing some spring cleaning and I unearthed all my season ticket stubs and collection of footy ticket stubs and was reminiscing on what fantastic times I've had...
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.

I feel yah mate, so would you say the match goers sentiments roughly reflect what people feel online? There is a chap I came across recently, goes to our matches home and away and his the same. Die hard fan, but shares same concerns. He claims the atmosphere at Anfield is mundane, doesn't create the fortress, powerhouse, electric vibe. It is almost like fans just turn up for the sake of it, like a chore.
