The club debt, an idea.....the only way forward

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby LittleHobo » Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:14 pm

The club is £230m in debt, before that debt is cleared, we will be 4th at best. It restricts our wages and transfer budget. I say we sell most the squad. Half of them play like they dont want to be here anyway, so here goes.

Reina - 16m
Johnson -14m
Agger - 8m
Skrtle - 5m
Cavielho - 2m
Degen - 1m
Mascherano - 22m
Gerrard - 25m
Aqualini - 12m
Babel - 8m
Reira - 6m
Benayoun - 7m
Kuyt - 4m
El Zhar - 1m
Torres -75m

GRAND TOTAL = £206 Meaning the debt is a simple £30m which SKY TV annual payments will cover.

Then we buy on frees
David James, Patrick Vieira, Joe Cole and that guy from Belguim we have already signed who can play on the left wing and up front...

Our team next season is
(First Team)..............................(Reserve)

David James................................David Martin
Martin Kelly.................................Stephen Derby
Insua..........................................Aurelio
Krygiakos....................................Ayala
Carragher...................................San Jose
Vieira........................................Plessis
Lucas........................................Spearing
Rodrigues..................................Ecclestone
Joe Cole....................................Belgiuim Player
Nemeth....................................Pacheco
Ngog........................................Dalle Valle

Is that a joke mate? You don't sell your best players. You are talking about more or less a complete restructure of the entire squad.

fact is, until the debt is cleared, we will go backwards. my idea means taking a step backwards, but then forwards all the way. also, the team is good enough to stay up, so we will have prmeiership tv money

we are kidding ourselfs currently if we think we have what it takes to win things with the current financial situation yet we will always have a high expectation with the current players we have

a clean slate means a new era............

This forum and it's threads get more comedic by the day.

Young Einstien there want's to sell our biggest players who are in fact some of our biggest assets to actually keeping us from going under. Yes, flog them all, and watch our shares plumit into the abyss, sponsorships will jump ship, and merchandise sales will hit rock bottom as we'll have no means of revenue to rebuild. Bravo! A spiffing plan, I say young chap.

the choices are simple

1. continue, slip into more debt and eventual oblivion
2. get brought by a billionaire and lose our soul
3. sell everyone and start over, clean slate....like shankly did

Yes, i agree. if the club carries on what it is doing, everything that is 'special' about the club will be gone forever. Players always change, managers change, owners change, the badge has changed, even the stadium will be changing, the only thing that stays is the way LFC is. with the debt gone, we can rebuild. whilst the debt stays, we go backwards.

So we can sell all these players and then Get Viera in!

He is on about 150,000 a week with City, we cant afford that and I can just imagine the conversation with Joe Cole

"Listen Joe, I know United and City are in for you and are going to give you massive contracts because you are on a free, but if you sign with us we will give you half the contract they are offering..........oh and all the players that you see over there wont be here next year but we still think we can win the league"

He would be mad not to sign...

maybe not vieira, maybe robbie savage, and who said anythin about winnign the league. tell me this....in 1970, if someone said to a united fan, 'listen mate, for the enxt 30 years you will be :censored:, but then you will be the best and most successful team in england',.....what would they say?? they would say yes, because they would see the BIGGER picture. you guys either dont care how we win trophies (the way we mocked chelsea and man city to be), or think we can win the league with a fairly small stadium, not much money, nd a team captain who plays like a sulking anelka.

united have the success atm to ignore it. believe me, if liverpool hjad won three titles in last three year,s a couple of league cups and the champs league, we would not be moaning about the debts

Really?  I would have thought inventing an alter ego just to have someone agree with you = fail.  Hobo you lose.  :;):
