MOMO TARGETS DERBY RETURN
Jimmy Rice 08 January 2007

Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko is targeting the Merseyside derby on February 3 for his return to action.
The Malian, who has not played since dislocating his shoulder against Birmingham on November 8, has now returned to training.

"I'm hoping to make it back for the first game in February, which is the Merseyside derby with Everton," said Sissoko.

"I've had some serious injuries but that is something you have to live with in this game. I've worked hard to get better and I'm now feeling okay."

Big question is: For the Prem do we put him back in and move Steve G out to right?
Even though Pennant is showing improvement?

At least the lad is on the road to recovery...lets wait and see if and how Rafa throws his services back into the mix...in any case, good to see ONE of the longer term casualties returning.

I know a few people that dont rate Sissoko, but I like him, I think he will be good for us when he gets his injury sorted, and although pennant improving, hes not quite at sissokos standard just yet I dont think

sissoko standard ?!

sissoko is good in quite a few thingss...really good at them...
a poor footballer though and we dont need him + xabi is most league games !

Pennant is a very good player... improving by the day...
dont understand why we'd want to move gerrard to right midfield thereby taking away a decent fraction of his game... put sissoko in the center with xabi thus having no central midfielders in advanded positions....

we need more positive play.... need to get as close to the goal with as many players as possible.. our strikers arent good enough... we need them pouncing on chances rather than coming deep to create them !

keep pennant and gerrard and alonso for the league imo !

This is probabaly the only thread which I can be arsed to reply to. All the others are just too depressing.

Good news, you have been missed Momo!!!! Lets hope he can get his fitness back up and maybe we can look towards Barca.

Good stuff, will be glad to see this fella back in action he is a total workhorse always see him darting about with tackles all over the pitch.  He and Dirk are very alike in that respect.

Only thing that he needs to really improve on is his passing and final touch, but he is only young and that will come with time and experience.
