Sevilla want josemi

From Marca[not good translation]

Seville thinks about Josemi for ' covering espaldas' By D. PINILLA. Seville Seville thinks about Josemi (Torremolinos, 15-11-1979) like a very serious alternative to cover the possible exits of Sergio Ramos and/or Daniel Alves. In fact, the sport direction of the hispalense picture has gone recently to the representative of lateral straight the ex- malaguista to know the disposition the soccer player to return to Spain. Josemi was an express request of Rafa Benítez for its project in the Liverpool the last season, but a knee injury left him out of play during about three months, which made him lose protagonism in Anfield. Now, the Madrilenian technician has communicated to him to Josemi that has him, but will have to work hard to take control of a position in the champion of the Champions. In these, Seville has appeared in the scene and has contacted with the agent of Josemi. It is necessary to remember that Juande Branches knows him perfectly, had to him to his orders in the Malaga, and it has already given the approval to this possibility if finally they prosper some of the supplies that have arrived by the two present lateral rights: Daniel Alves and Sergio Branches (although this one comes more playing like power station). By Sergio Branches the Valencia already got to offer this summer the friolera of 15 million euros, supply that was discarded by Of the Nest, and now seems that Madrid goes in serious by the canterano. By Daniel they have not lacked supplies either: the Valencia had to him in its agenda and recently the same Liverpool has gone to Seville with a supply in firm. At the moment, Of the Nest it has said that not to all these supplies, but it is not necessary to forget that Alves is extracommunitarian and that right now Seville counts with four, one more those than they can play. The Villarreal also follows the option to him of Josemi for Seville is something that can finish taking body in the next days. The Liverpool has appraised to malagueño around three million euros, with the hope to recover the investment of the last year. The Villarreal is looking for a lateral one straight and has asked recently for the conditions of the ex- malaguista.

I'd sell him right now at this instant, but we're going to be in trouble if we don't sign a RB because there will be no one to cover for Finnan.

Maybe David Raven could do a job as back up?

Last summer Rafa came close to signing David Cortez so if Josemi goes, he'll probably sign a new fella in.

JBG, I think this means that Sevilla are getting ready to sell somebody and I think it will be Alves[maybe a swap, what a steal that would be:D ]

There's also Barragan,but he's 18 maybe he won't play that much.

I haven't seen much of Alves, to be honest.

I heard he can also play right midfield.

Is he any good?

Yes he can play as a right midfielder, though his rescent comments haven't made him exactly popular.

I haven't seen much of him, but he's highly rated[I know we've all heard that before] and many who watch the La Liga that I know have said good things about him.

He can't be worse than Josemi and it seems that Sevilla have nurtured alot of good players rescently[Reyes,Baptista,Ramos]

'nuff said. sell him. he was horrible in yesterday's game and against better opposition we will be skinned alive on the right flank. we need cover for finnan.

He does seem to be getting worse rather than better. Strange that he actually started with a modicum of promise but if he could run forwards with a similar gusto to the rate he is retreating backwards right now we might have had a player.
If we were to offload (and I would take 1 mill' no bother) at least it would represent an improvement as like in the case of Nunez, Rafa doesn't seem to mind admitting he has made a mistake. If anyone ever reads any of my posts they'll know that I quite often champion British based players and ones from the lower divisions. Almost always I get slaughtered which is all part of the rough and tumble but honestly, can anybody tell me that we couldn't have found a better right back prospect in the lower leagues? Sometimes overseas is not better.

Josemi doesn't seem to have any positional sense at all.  If we get an offer we should take the money and run.

In the past I have tried to be rational when it comes to Josemi by saying that he's been unlucky with injuries and it's his first season in the prem, but fu.ck it, lets face it, he's a poor player.  I like his attitude and the fact that he gets stuck in, but I'm sorry thats not good enough.

If Finnan stays fit for most of the season and this guy Barragan is reliable back-up, then we might get away with not bringing in a replacement for Josemi.  Otherwise I don't think Medjani is good at RB (more a CB) and Raven is not ready (if rafa thought he was then he'd be involved in the pre-season with the 1st team).

Yes, it is a very good thing about Rafa selling players quickly that haven't worked out. Its both good for the club and the player. Nunez should start afresh at Vigo, and put his year at Liverpool down to experience. Had he, however, stuck around for another couple of seasons and rotted in the reserves he would have wasted the clubs money but also ruined his own career.

As for signing foreign players, Paul Tomkins makes a very good point in his book about the advantages of signing foreign players over homegrown ones. He points to Chelsea's signing of home grown players in the Abramovich era and also Arsenal's lack of success in buying English talent (Franny Jeffers and Richard Wright).

I agree, sell him right away! Had the misfortune of being at StMarys last season when they beat us 2-0.Josemi's performance that day was the worst i can rembember from him.Awful in fact!
Has'nt improved much since if any atall.I guess some continental players just cant cut it in the premiership, but you never know till u try them out.

I think that we're going have a swap. Here's why, a team can only have three non-EU players, Sevilla have four so that means that somebody has to leave. Baptista has decided to stay mainly because if he does then he will get a Spanish passport and that means that somebody has to go, and I think that it will be Alves.
