Just contemplating (as you do) and reflecting with the many footie opinions as fans we have.
A lot have to do with money and how important and relevant it is in the modern game.
SO...
IF LFC had £500,000,000 to spend on players only. But no other team knew we had that kind of money. Who would we buy and why. Who would become available and at what price?
MY OPENING CASE (your honours).
Individuals that can change a football team:
1. It is my belief that Messi would not leave Barca for any amount whilst in his prime (similar loyalty SG showed LFC)
2. IF Ronaldo became available it would be only fair to assume that Manure would have a buy back 'first refusal' agreement with the player
3. The next world beater in terms of individual ability has only spent 1 season with his new club having left LFC. Has won the treble in that time and may have shown that he loves LFC but is no longer in love with LFC
English FC Clubs with loads 'o money!
1. Man Sh!ty have spent around 500,000,000 since receiving oil money and have won 2 notable trophies and now have an ageing squad. Also play sh!t in the CL.
2. Chelski are current PL champions but also ran out sh!t in the CL
So who would you buy with almost limitless funds? Does the game become easier or do clubs with limited funds become more creative in their strategies? Are rich clubs lazy?
No doubt we could get Hazard for a tidy sum. But is he a true world beater like the 3 above? Would Sterling stay and would you want him too?
Would you invest in the future or just buy all out for next 2-3 seasons?
Yes it is a 'what IF question'. But as fans that is pretty much our only entitlement.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
