Oh if thats how it works cool,

I had thought it maybe meant, they could buy him back for a set fee at any point,  minimum release fee and all that. :D

but now you said that i suppose it makes a bit more sense,

The Liverpool kiss of death.

Prepare to be the laughing stock of the Premiership Mohammad, before being loaned to Birmingham in three seasons time where you'll play 17 minutes of first team football.   :D

I dunno if this was said in the press conference, but i assume it was:

Rafa Benitez feels it will be difficult for Liverpool to sign Luis Figo as the European champions close on a deal for Peter Crouch.

Portugal international Figo has expressed a desire to move to Anfield after falling out with Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo.

But the transfer has hit an impasse as Real are demanding a fee for the experienced winger while Liverpool want to land Figo on a free transfer.

A compromise is proving arduous to come to and Reds boss Benitez believes the chances of the mercurial wide man moving to Merseyside are receding.

"We have two or three options for the right side and we are trying to see which is the best option," said Benitez.

"Figo will be difficult. At this moment it is really difficult."

Benitez, though, is hoping to add another fresh face to his squad before the start of the season after maintaining his interest in Southampton striker Crouch.

Saints have already rejected two bids from Liverpool and are believed to be seeking around £8 million for the England international.

Crouch has voiced a willingness to secure a quick return to The Premiership and Benitez confirmed talks with Southampton are ongoing.

He added: "He (Crouch) is a player I like and I would like that we finish talking about Crouch as soon as possible.

"We want to see the player working with us as soon as possible.

"Rick Parry is in contact with Southampton. Always, the manager wants a player as soon as possible for training with them."

Liverpool have almost finalised their swoop for Valencia midfielder Mohamed Sissoko, while Benitez is also keen to recruit a new centre half.

Quite disapointed that madrid r being difficult. Its probably because of the gerrard saga altho they did try sum thing similar wen we were in for morientes, tryin to make it as difficult as possible and get every penny.

Hopefully its jus mind games by the gaffa tryin to make em lower the price.

if he could pull off may b a £1m deal then i would b all for it.

I dont think benitez will want him if they do, because lets b fair the guy is quite old and may not get a look in next campagine in the champs league.

And also someone was sayin before that rafa wants too squads (which i dont particularly agree with) and if he does want 2 squads im sure figo would b in the champions league one, havin won it, and being a contenital player. jus my opinion.

From the press conference Figo looks a major doubt Rafa has said he will look elsewhere.
Upson and Gallas good players but Rafa is not interested in signing them.
He really wants Crouch and Rafa reckons he will be a Liverpool player and go the Swiss camp with them.
Rafa said he is looking for centre halfs and a right sided winger.
Nothing more to add really, must admit though Rafa seems to really want Crouch :oh:

Big Hands
