Not at all - that's not what I said. If that's a 'tight ship', again, I do worry for Sunderland this season.

Ok, did you think Liverpool got out of first gear today? Do you think we exerted ourselves in this game?  ???

At times you played some cracking stuff,  at others IMO we were all over you.

But do you think we looked like we wanted to exert ourselves today?

Yes, or else you wouldn't have had 15 shots on target.

That's were I think we'l have to agree to disagree. I don't think we played at the sort of tempo and pace that we usually do, hense the 1-0 result. If we had, the margin would have been much more severe.

I don't believe we played how we can and I don't think Sunderland played well at all, but hey - we are looking at our teams from totally different angles so we will draw out what we want from the performances. We've got the 3 points, and that's 2 more than we got last time we met you's at Anfield, so i'm happy.

Thats your opinion and mine is that based on todays performance we deserved something. Sadly it never came, but 36 games games to go. Still 108 points to play for.

IMO (SAFC fan) LFC well and truly deserved to win today.  However I am much happier now than I was last time we were at Anfield.  We played a sensible formation/tactics for the game and actually looked as though we cared at times.  If someone had said to me 12 months ago we would go to the home of the European Champs and only get beat 1-0 then I would of laughed at them.  SAFC fans all accept its going to be a long hard season, but if we can somehow stay up then we will take it as a successful season.

Good luck for the rest of the season (apart from when you are at the SOL)

If someone told me 12 months ago that we were going to the home of the European Champions, I'd thought they meant in a pre-season friendly.

On a sort of related topic, I thought the Michael Shields Mosaic was superb and the minutes silence for Anthony Walker was excellently observed. Well done to one and all that went the match today.  :bowdown

omfg feeney that is the worst statement i have ever heard, no manager would ever give instructions to "hold back and take it easy" it was a bad performance simple as that. yeah we're all happy with 3 points ofcourse, but we still need to improve a great deal if we have any realistic chance of winning the prem this year. We have had the benefit of what we so call pre season games (CL qualifiers) yet it doesnt look like we have benefited any more than a newly promoted side that havent had the same opportunities to get match fit, now thats a cause for concern, and thats why so man people on here are concerned, and rightly so...and i agree cisse hasnt shown any real class at all, the chances he has put away i would expect from any striker in the CL qualifiers, and ive said all along hes no T henry (of which everyone was comparing him to when he first arrived) as a matter of fact he is nowhere near that class and never will be. although he is still young, hes got speed and a fierce shot on him but thats the only plus points about the guy, and i cant see him improving a great deal, even under Rafa. morientes again as ive always said, hes a waste of space, hes never gonna make it in the prem simple, hes slow, predictable and just absolute :censored: really. although there is one plus about the match today, and it has already been mentioned, we managed to scrape a win today despite putting in a bad performance. that is a good sign, as last year we probably would have conceded a late equalizer in these circumstances, so it is a step forward in a way, but i hope we dont have a repeat performance.
