New stadium - Stanley park our new home?

indeed, but unfortuately Anfield doesn't bring enough revenue, so the new 60 000 seater will do us a world of good.
It might mean more games are not sold out, but games against ManU, Everton, Arsenal etcd as well as CL games will easily sell out 60 000.

I agree but for someone who has enjoyed the benefits of a season ticket for a long time thats not my overriding concern but I realise we have to move forward and building a new stadium with increased capacity is part of that.

My sadness will be for purley sentimental reasons and an appreciation of enjoying some of the best moments of my sporting life at "Anfield" .......... I'll have to stop now, i'm flillng up !!!!!!!

yeh there is so much History at the place, and some of LFC's finest moments have been witnessed there.
When i first heard about the move i was gainst it because of these reasons, but over time have realised that it may be necessary to move the club further forward.

haha, thanks mate, i am planning to come over next year. Then when i get out of Uni an get some money probably 5  years away, i want to come and work/live in Liverpool.

was just reading the lfc new stadium site, it is going to be called Anfield, and they won't be issuing more seaosn ickets, the extrra eats will be for individual sale.

Btw, have you any idea if you can apply for a season ticket form overseas?

Don't rule out the name 'Stanley Park' for the stadium.

Considering the ground is going to be built in the park, from Liverpool Council's point of view I think this name would be high up on their suggested list.

Then I would suggest the council change it , rename the bloody park if they have to. Our home should be called Anfield and nothing else. :)

The only way I would accept a new stadium is if it were going to be called ANFIELD! No name other than that.

Renaming can be a bad thing. We could end up renaming all the stands individually like at most stadiums.

We'd have the Shankley Stand, Paisley Stand, Grobbalaar Stand & the Owen Stand

don't know why i chose them names but you get the drift...

Stanley Park Stadium - has got a good ring to it though.

I think no matter what they end up calling it officially it's still going to be called Anfield by everyone..... same as Celtic Park in Scotland is still better known as Parkhead :)

Liverpool should style their stadium on the ancient colluseum. holding 80000, but with more flair than the San Siro
