Posted this after the CSKA game.

As a lot of you know I drive a taxi in liverpool.I went to work tonight after the match ,and picked up a member of staff from Anfield.[no,not the turnstyle opperator]After discussing the game with him I asked whats happening about the new kit.He told me it is Red with Gold trim similar to the chelsea kit.The badge is also going to incorporate 5 gold starsThe numbers and names on the back are going to be specially manufactured, with Liverbirds running through the numbers. As the lettering is like a limited edition the club shop will only let you have a players name and number on the back,no personalised shirts.Apparentley the merit of honour badge will also be available although the premier league have put the blocks on the club wearing it for league matches as they have towear 2 premier league badges onthe shirts. The new shirt will be worn in champions league games from now on but wont be available in the shops until October.
The fellah who told me this said as he got out of the cab ,Dont tell anyone who told you this its supposed to be a secret.Secret,in this city whos he trying to kid.

Thats the bad boy, i opened a thread on this the other week. Can I have a big hat!? haha

After a lot of rumours have been circulating on the Internet, we now have confirmation from official sources that Liverpool will be issuing a new kit for the Champions League group stages - if they qualify.

Success for Liverpool in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier will see the European Champions wearing the brand-new kit from the group stages onwards. The Reds are 3-1 up from the away first leg against CSKA Sofia, with the return to be played at Anfield on August 23rd.

This is the final hurdle in Liverpool's six-game qualifying run, and although Liverpool are favourites to go through, the club would not show disrespect to their opponents by suggesting it's a foregone conclusion. Once the Reds are through the new kit will be announced.

Liverpool's plans to wear the European Cup "badge of honour" for all games seems to have gone by the wayside - the new badge will only be available on the new Champions League kit, and will not be sold separately. This goes against what we were told after the glory of Istanbul, when it was announced that the Reds would wear the badges for all games.

We've not yet heard the official line on why the "badge of honour" won't be worn, but it has been suggested that other Premiership clubs were unhappy about the Reds wearing this on their kits.

Although we have heard from official sources that the Reds will bring out a new kit, we've not been given any official word on what the new kit will look like. It will be Red, there's no doubt about that as it will be a "home" kit, but other than that we have not been told any more.

The picture to the right is one that has been circulating, but may be a fake - so don't be too critical just yet!

The badge is too small, and you can barely see the five stars.

This is the brand new Champions League shirt that the Reds wore for the first time as they began the defence of their trophy against Real Betis.

The new European shirt will be available to purchase online, in store and through mail order from November 10.

You'll be able to celebrate Liverpool's stunning triumph in Istanbul by wearing your shirt complete with two Champions League patches, one commemorating our five European Cups and the other depicting the Champions League logo and our victory last season.

These patches are exclusive to Liverpool FC and won't be available from any other retailers. You can also choose to have the name and number of your choice in gold lettering on the back of your shirt.

NOVEMBER 10th? ???? ??????
We'll have played 4 champions league games by then. What are Reebok and LFC playing at?  In a worse case scenario, we could be all but out by then - who is going to buy it then? Someone in marketing should be shot for that!

Actually I was the first one to post that article, I did it weeks before you did. :D

Look at this photo:

The badge is bigger than "RbK" and it's bigger than in the first photo of the shirt from that article.
