Glad in a way but i think other teams will soon be bidding as his availability has been publicised!
The squad thats gone to Austria does look very short of midfielders, i hope we don't sell Danny until we have replacements!

Danny Murphy's proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur has collapsed after the White Hart Lane club confirmed they could not guarantee the Liverpool midfielder first team football.
A statement on the Spurs official website says: "We have now withdrawn from these negotiations following a meeting with the player.

"We acknowledge that a guaranteed first team place was a deciding factor in his decision and wish him well."

It's still likely that Murphy will leave and if Everton pull their finger out it could be just across the park.

I just hope Benitez won't go into the season with a squad full of players he don't want. How on earth can a player demand first team football. He must be full of himself. He shows a complete lack of respect for the game, for Liverpool and for Spurs.

Would it be better for Owen to leave than Murphy? We might score more penos! If LFC gets £30 million it would be good business.  The trend is for wingers in the modern game. With the way forwards are now protected by refs they cause much needed havoc. Duff is one of the best players in the league. Chelseas decline last season was partially due to his injury. He is a goal creator. There are probably some other good old fashioned wingers we could buy. And why doesn't youth get a chance? Partridge et al have been in the reserves for years.

Too right it does!

Diao, Gerrard, Hamann, Kewell to start in midfield presumably.

Its hardly a dream midfield and if one of them is injured we have little in reserve.

The match tommorrow is huge both in football terms and financially.

I for one would have added Danny Murphy into our midfield squad. Anyone know if there are early morning flights to Austria?

Rafa certainly doesn't take any dissent in the ranks lightly. If you're not happy then you're history....Michael had better make his mind up pronto!
