LIVERPOOL VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR - Final fixture - sun 16:00 ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Madmax » Wed May 20, 2009 3:18 am

Liverpool bring the curtain down on a memorable 2008-09 season with their final fixture of the campaign against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.

The two sides have already met twice this season and the Reds will be hoping to pick up three points, having lost both meetings.

A stoppage-time winner from Roman Pavlyuchenko secured a 2-1 victory for Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League meeting at White Hart Lane in November.

It was somewhat unjust on Liverpool, who had dominated throughout, but were ultimately punished for their profligacy in front of goal.

Just over a week later, the teams went head-to-head again in North London and it was Spurs triumphed once more, running out 4-2 victors in the Carling Cup tie.

Last season, Tottenham claimed a point at Anfield as they held Rafa Benitez's men to a 2-2 draw.

Lets end the season with a high note and win this one comfortably. Its been a tough season and sadly we just came out a little short.

2-0 Gerrard,torres

The first name on the team sheet for me is Sami Hyypia   :bowdown

Hopefully Sami will be Captain for the day and will come off to a standing ovation a few minutes from the end.

Oh and by the way, any f#cking morons who boo Keane should be thrown out the ground. :kungfu:

2-0 with Hyypia and Kuyt scoring the goals will do nicely, give us a two goal a game average, another clean sheet and one of our best defensive records ever in the top flight. Obviously I'd be happy if it were a more emphatic win, but is there much point given we need only a point to be sure of second? I'd rather avoid any long term injuries to key players

spudz drew 2-2 at Anfield last season, they have a Premiership record at Anfield of P16 W1 D5 L10 F14 A33 and haven't won here at Anfield since 25/08/93 (L1-2) We have kept only seven clean sheets in those encounters, surprisingly they have scored twice in FIVE of the other games including last seasons.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
