John Barnes' Granny wrote:We played Villa three times last year....I think Riise got the winner on the opening day at Villa park, Owen got the Pool goal in the disappointing 1-1 draw at Anfield, and we also beat them 4-3 at Villa Park in the Worthington Cup.....a terrible game in that Marcus Babbel was taken to the cleaners by Vassell in his comeback match after his illness, got dragged off at half time and as far as I know it was his last game for the Pool.

That night Baros, Gerard and Murphy scored twice.

Seeing that Riise was not here in 2001 and you have already said it was not Owen, it has to be either Murphy or Gerrard.

I guess Gerrard?

Gerrard is correct

scored in 4-3 win in worthington cup 02/03
scored in 3-1 defeat at anfield in 01/02
scored in 3-0 win at villa pk 00/01

WELL DONE

yeah the same lad who reckons hes turned down Rangers, Celtic, Chelsea, Liverpool, Fulham, Manchester City and United and Tottenham Hotspur to stay at Tranmere.
Then he reckons he has joined Chester City and reckons that they have the best youth set up in England.
Obviously he is full of s##t :D

I'd go for Ian Rush with Wales but not 100%

You're right supersub Dalglish has more international caps overall than Rush, but i'm assuming the question was who was most capped while as a liverpool player which should be Rush 67 for wales who beat Kenny's 55 for Scotland!?

Which player appeared against Liverpool in a European cup final and was also a substitute against us in a FA cup final?
