Getting better against the Big parked BUS

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

We've struggled many times in the past against teams who sit back and play ultra defensive.
How many times did we used to see it 25+ shots 75% possession etc and ending up with a point.

I feel we are improving now against these sort of teams. We have shown that we can grind out a goal.
This will be a common theme now at anfield, teams will come and park the double decker.
The result against Sunderland will do the lads wonders.

Dont really agree mate. The final scoreline against Sunderland flattered us. It could've gone 0-0 easily but for Origi's moment of magic. How many times could we rely on players' moments of magic? the goal wasnt a result of a team goal where we managed to split open the defence. Then the 2nd goal was the result of Sunderland having no choice but to abandon their parked bus strategy.

Yeah Origi goal was a bit special however mate we did miss some good chances. Our shooting was poor to ssy the least. Wijnaldum should have easily scored in the 2nd half.

We are the top scorers in the league so we must be doing something right, interestingly enough those 2 clean sheets in our last 2 games have helped our defensive stats too, we are only 4 goals worse than the best defence in the country now where as at one point we were about 9 goals worse off.
Generally I agree though teams are now setting up just to stop us playing, increasingly teams are starting to see a point against us as a good result. That first goal in games is becoming vital.
