from the guardian, sorry i cant find the bung thread

The eight clubs under the spotlight in the Lord Stevens inquiry into Premiership bungs have still not been informed of their identities. Last Monday the former Metropolitan Police commissioner stated that 39 transfers involving eight clubs who participated in the Premiership between the 2003-04 and 2005-06 seasons would require further investigation. Reports emerged yesterday that those eight clubs were Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Portsmouth, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion. However, the inquiry team and the Premier League have refused to divulge any details, even to those involved' - The Guardian.

i remember the cisse transfer being investigated in france but i dont know the outcome of that one, but i do fear that houllier was involved in this somehow

Just when you thought we couldn't get SHAT on anymore this comes along. If this is down to Houllier I will be on the first plane to Lyon to be havin words wiv the GALIC A*Hole.  I wouldn't be surprised if it was down to anyone of the following transfers - Diao, Cheyrou, Ziege or Kewell; then again it could be all of them.

I read in Spain (El mundo deportivo) in an interview that Liverpool's case is about our good friend Diao.

Rafa said it was a complete surprise to him, but he said not to be bothered and left the issue in the hands of the club's legal services. He added that in football yo have to deal with clean and dirty people, and you don't know always who you're treating. Anyhow, he didn't seem to be too worried.

Could this explain GH's eagerness to buy some real turkeys?

You and me both PeeWee.

When you look at the money splashed around by Houllier and consider what we got for it , I'm only surprised that questions weren't asked a long long time ago .

yeah mate i know you are in the same camp as me on this one, everything he did was not for the good of the club. of course he made some good signings, but most were pretty poor to be fair.so we have to ask if he is just a bad judge of a player or if he was pocketing a few quid along the way

Maybe that's why, GH reluctant to let the turkeys ( diao, diouf etc...) go instead just let them rot in the team....BUNG!
u got paid to have bucket of turds in the team, gave them a lengthy contract, see them rot .......

Great.

I'm sick of folks dragging our name through the mud.

Whoever is responsible should be sued.

And it is not like Houllier wasn't making a packet anyway. There was also funny dealings with the Cisse deal. Enough to make your blood boil.

It doesn't surprise me at all that Houllier 's name has been mentioned and ours for that matter. I read somewhere ages ago that Houllier paid five million for Harry Kewell and two million of that went to Kewell agent.

There was also that incident with Ziege, in which we got fined.

i know, you have to fear the worst here  :sniffle  lets just hope the damage is of no consequence to rafa and his future plans, bearing in mind any sanctions that may or may not be imposed.
