Felt like cheering myself up after the Sunday's events and thought of no better way than to delve into our not so distant past, got plans to do other legends as soon as time allows  :)

Saw a great banner on Sunday , said something like "THOSE WHO REMEMBER THE PAST ARE DESTINED TO REPEAT IT" :)

Like yourself I suppose I try not to compare the football of days gone by with the present day cos it's not a fair comparison and football has chcanged almost beyond recognition.

However amidst the changes, some for the better we have lost something. Remembering the past glories and servants of Liverpool Football Club is a mark of respect :)

true, even though the game has changed the domination we had through those years was immense. the annoying thing now is the lack of effort and pride shown sometimes. the players should be made to watch videos of our history

I believe Benitez showed the players a video of the Cardiff Cup Finals over recent years as a prelude to the game . He also included clips of the crowd and you would like to think he is trying to get across to the players what it means to the fans or to put it another way the people who pay their wages

An old friend of mine was once travelling from the then Speke airport to a European fixture and came across the entire Liverpool team walking through for their plane. circa late 70's .....

he struck up a conversation with Phil Neal and was blabbering on about how many games he'd been to , the places hes watched the team, his aspirations and expectations etc.....when Ronnie Moran came over and said something to Phil and then it happened ...Phil replied "hang on a  minute Ronnie, i'm talking to a fan! I'M TALKING TO A FAN !!!!!!

Last Saturday I and some friends booked a meal in the Vale, the LFC hotel for the weekend  in Cardiff. We did the sae 2 years ago  and met Phil T, Houllier, Sammy Lee, Ian Rush , Ron Yeats etc.....had a fantastic night and briefly saw many playes as they were taken to their conferene rom for Match debriefs, meal etc..... It was all relaxed and convenial and we tried not to be too obverbearing or pushy and it turned out to be a memorable night.

THIS last Saturday didn't see a single player of backrom staff apart from the Club Doctor in the residents bar ...Transpires there is now an underground access corridor for VIPS and Players etc to get around the hotle without being interrupted or bothered by "Fans"

And they say the fans are important ?

i think it's also a security issue, in these days of high security they aren't gonna take any unnecessary risks as who knows who may be there, some drunk LFC fan looking for a fight or some mad Chelsea fan with a knife?
