Thank you guys.

I don't live far from Anfield.  10 minutes in fact.

A few weeks back, I had a bit of a walk around my estate.  I was going around to my mates house who lives in Sunbury Avenue off Anfield Road.

I ended up outside the Shankly Gates and of course , right next to them, the memorial.

Reading the cards, reading the messages, watching the Eternal Flame etc...

I was nine years old at the time, but it never leaves you does it?

Walk on the 96, you'll never be forgotten............

I remember going up to Anfield when they opened up the ground after the Hillsborough disaster so it could be a shrine for people to go pay their respects. It was the first day they opened it and my friend wanted to go put his scarf in the goalmouth to pay his respects. I'll never forget the sight of a man who was crouching down looking at all the things people had layed there and he was crying his eyes out. When my mate threw his Liverpool scarf down the man looked up at him and said "thank you so much lad". That will stay with me for the rest of my life that moment.
