From BBC News:

Deadly shooting at US university

At least 20 people have been killed and more injured after a gunman went on the rampage at the campus of Virginia Tech university in Virginia, US.
Police say there were two separate shooting incidents - one at West Ambler Johnston Hall, a student dormitory, and Norris Hall, an engineering building.

The incidents were about two hours apart. Police say that the gunman at Norris Hall is dead.

The state university in the town of Blacksburg is home to 26,000 students.

I really cant understand why they don't have tighter gun control in that country, every couple of years something like this seems to happen over there. I know if someone really wants to they can get a gun illegally, but surely tighter restrictions would stop this happening as often?

Yanks love guns and can't handle them. There are a lot of lunatic yanks and people there refuse to give up their right to bear arms so there society deserves all the f**ked up things that happen from them. They, as a society, prefer a couple of these things to happen every year and thousands of other gun killings than to make guns illegal. People in this part of the world complain about gun crime but compared to America it is a  safehaven.

Sad but true.

It said on the news the count was now 32, unbelievable they have some badly messed up people in that country  :no

Niall a bit harsh saying the society deserves it, yeah the gun culture is a joke and something should of been done years ago.
But your comments just seem OTT and a bit disrespectful imo.

Sorry EddieC and the other posters in this thread. This issue is already being discussed. This thread was the first one to be posted and under normal circunstances the other one should be closed.

But the other one already has more answers and a debate, so I'll close this one. Please copy and paste there your thoughts.

Thank you.
