Anyone who can't understand fahrenheit can feck off to back to brussels to play with their banana bendy-o-meter

Who needs to go to feck off back to Brussels woolly and whats a banana bendy o meter ???

cigs me love, the ones who are brussels-bound are the ones who only understand this new-fangled "celsius" rubbish instead of proper fahrenheit thermometers :D

as for a banana bendy-o-meter it's what the euro-bureaucrats use to tell us our bananas are too bendy to be sold on markets or whatever it is they do there  :O

for those who never went to school:

100f = 38c
75f = 24c
50f = 10c
30f = brass monkeys

CRA I actually prefer celcius to be honest but I've partaken in moderate-to-generous libations this evening so I'm just looking for trouble :D

whats the problem with using Celcius?

:D

As someone recently pointed out we british seem to use Celsius for cold temps and fahrenheit for hot .

Why do we do that ?    :D

Seems like a good time to swap weather stories .

Mid winter travelling by bus thru turkey in my hippie days we (5 assorted westerners on the back seat) complained to our friendly turkish driver that we were f'uckin' freezing , no problemo , the driver stopped the bus ,dug out a cake tin ,placed it at our feet, filled it with sand , doused it in petrol and set it alight  :laugh:  We spent the next couple of hours bouncing along with a four foot pillar of fire blazing inches away from us .We never complained again .             :D

Not sure what fuel he was using  Wooly , but after a bitter night spent shivering somewhere between Erzurum and Trabzon,the next morning the b'ugger was under the bus with a blow torch thawing out the fuel line . (I kid you not ) . You've never seen a bunch of zonked out hippies run so fast .   :D
