RIP to all the victums

But something has to be done about this, America is messed up when it comes to guns...

If you are willing to carry a gun then you should be willing to die by a gun

First, RIP, I was really shocked yesterday.

Sorry :(

but that way you can only get into the classes that you are signed up for and get into the dorm hallway that you live in. if you wanted to visit your mates they would have to let you in.  In yesterdays shooting, the killer was able to get into a couple of class rooms (I think, info is still a little sketchy and unclear)
Trying to make it harder to get guns in our country is one of the harderst things to do. the NRA have so much lobbying power and the 2nd amendment of the consitution backing them up, so lots of money and time usually goes wasted, and its not a garuntee to fix the problem because the blackmarket for guns in the US will grow becuase the demand for guns will still be there and that will probably cause more problems.

Trying to identify people who are suffering mental problems and or depressions or show any signs that someone might commit something so terrible is so hard, and I am sure there are hundreds who show similar signs but never act on it.

There is also going to be a HUGE reaction to what caused this, and there will be a link with video games and violence in TV and movies, and I am really worried that censorship will increase a lot more, and that is a shame for the actions of one could ruin the fun for millions

So that's the Bush way to deal with the problem? When citizens' security is in danger what they do is to reduce freedom instead of attacking the cause of the problem?

The same video games are available at Spain and UK and it doesn't happen this things on a regular basis.

In my opinion, civilianss should be civilians. The security of a country must be dealt by the Police, or the military forces, if necessary, but not by civils.

The arguement of being used for "personal defence" doesn't hold together much because I can't see how an assault weapon can be sold for that purpose, and because if no one would be able to have a gun (unless for hunting etc) there wouldn't exist that much the need of defending.

The defending of the citizens must be police's task.

Of course I'm nobody to say how the Americans should rule their country, but they keep blaming things that obviously are not the problem (more censorship etc).

what a waste, his bird looked like a bit of a honey :(

dunno what the answer is really (if indeed there is one) but gun control has to get sorted out in america. it's more than a coincidence that all these high school killings seem to happen in a country where guns are more readily available than bubblegum. when was the last time we had a high school massacre in europe, where we have double the population of the usa but with proper gun control laws?

And then they'll blame the computer games. In Japan you have the most violent games you can get and this things do not happen.

NRA might me an important Lobby, but I think people have to punnish the defenders of the NRA in the ballot box, not giving their vote to the party that defends guns most.

Of course it's not only about weapon control. We must ask ourselves what we are doing wrong in this society so that this things happen.
