I think Bad Bob would agree :D

That maybe so, same as Australia. Give it 50 years of 'wanted' immigration to populate the country and to boost economic growth and many will be ruing the day they were so line-ant, if Britain is anything to go by.

They say what happens in Britain will happen to Australia in decades time, be it technology development  :D laws, immigration whatever, I suppose we can add Canada to that list then too.

I know, silly bint. Two of my best mates who go back to the good old days of fashionable Pampers and terry toweling garments are Black British. They are as British as me and you!

Really Bam

Not in my part of Australia
I see so many F..k off we are full car stickers on our redneck bogun cars all over the place. On other side of the fence our marxist  unions just held a demo outside of Chevron office demanding more training for locals from these mining companies who reaping big profits selling our resources to Chinese and stopping bringing in cheap foreign workers just last week

While there is certainly element of rasicm in all societys, I know many Australians are just concerned about living standards declining due to over population.
Its easy to play race card but many Aussies I know  are more afraid of being dragged down to a third world living standard just so some Corporation and its shareholder get even richer

I've seen them too laza on the back of cars, unfortunately for those hill billies their not in parliament and making the decisions though, they'll never be a referendum on such a thing, a bit like the carbon tax. Whenever I switch on the TV the government are always proclaiming that they have such a great multicultural society and don't mind handing out visas for qualified persons - even though many of them end up being taxi drivers. Australia boasts about it's multicultural society so I don't see why they would halt immigration.

Give it time mate. rule of thumb - whatever happens to Britain or America will happen to Ozzie ozzie ozzie oi oi oi :D

Also, let's not forget Australia's 'white only' policy in the 60's or whenever it was - they only wanted to give immigration to us poms. That's a blip in their history that they will want to reverse and move away from the old stereotype that Aussie's are generally racist.

True and it is unfortunate that you never will have a rational debate on immigration as race card will always get played

Far as im concerned though over population will cause more misery on this world for people of all colours then a few nasty words from frustrated  bigot

Britain's land area = 244, 820 KM2 Population 61,000,000

That roughly makes Canada 40 times bigger than Britain's land mass, granted not all of Canada (I think) is habitable, still even half Canada's land mass as habitable and it still tells you something. When you throw in the fact that Britain's population is doubled (thereabouts) what Canada's is.

In the interests of accuracy:

Canada's projected current population: 34, 633, 728 people (Statistics Canada)

And where do they live?  98% of the population lives on about 9% of the country's total land mass (to be fair, this area is still larger than the UK...).  The rest of the territory is rather unsuited for habitation.  Of that 9% very little would be attractive to new immigrants, who are unlikely to have moved to Canada to farm.  Most new immigrants flock to the major cities (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver) or 2nd-tier cities (Ottawa, Calgary, Hamilton, etc.).  So, the actual territory receiving immigrants every year in Canada is a lot more confined than you might imagine.

That's only because Canadians aren't churning out the babies anymore, mate.  We need you lot to come in and keep the economy ticking over and care for us in our old age eventually. :D

Interesting I say Australia is very similar as majority of population live on the coastal fringes and much of great sandy centre is uninhabitable

Yet, while both our resident colonials play down their habitable living in cities and coastal areas - both still dwarf Britain's size, while Britain's population is still more than the two colonies combined. :D

PS Bob, don't be so pedantic!
PPS And let's leave it at that Bob, I know you like to get ya two pence worth in but let's not totally derail the thread.
