I just watched in tv, and the search facility of the site won't find me the thread, sorry.

They've found a a bag with bones inside it, it was thrown to a lake, and this lake has been browsed this days. It seems much more than a rumour, because the Court Police, that is the one who takes evidences and proofs in cases like these has been sent there. Apparently a sock of the girl would have been found in this bad aswell.  :(

As soon as I know more, I'll tell you.

Yep. It was a quick note and they made a phone call to a journo they have there in Algarve, the location of the lake.

Apparently the mentioned sock that was found in the surroundings was the one that led to the police to browse the lake. And there they've found the bag with bones. The sock belongs to the little girl.

Nothing new yet.

The news of the found sock can be read on several serious papers like the ABC hours ago.

ABC newspaper

The breaking news of the found bag was about 1 hour ago. That very lake was searched 5 months ago and nothing was found.

Shannon Find Gives McCanns New Hope
Updated:16:17, Friday March 14, 2008

Kate and Gerry McCann have spoken of their delight - and hope - after missing Shannon Matthews was found alive.
They said the dramatic developments in Batley Carr, Dewsbury, gave them renewed faith in finding their daughter Madeleine.

McCanns Tell Of DelightShannon, nine, was found hidden in the base of a divan bed when police smashed their way into a flat 24 days after she went missing.

It is almost a year since three-year-old Madeleine vanished from her parents' holiday flat in Praia da Luz, on the Algarve, Portugal.

McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "Kate and Gerry are aware that she has been found alive.

"They feel that is excellent news, they are delighted that she is alive.

"They will not comment more until they know the full circumstances.

"Suffice to say that they will keep on looking until they have a happy resolution in Madeleine's case.

"It proves that children can go missing for whatever reason and still be found alive.

"Until Kate and Gerry know what has happened to Madeleine, there will always be hope for them that she too will be found alive.

"They will keep on looking as long as there is hope."

No confirmation it's Maddie. But there's confirmation there's something found because the Court police (investigations) was sent there. According to the journo in the tv, it's confirmed though the bones found are human, and belonging to a child.

P.S. The news on the bag with bones is on the national press already. La Vanguardia is similar to your "the guardian".

In this paper though, they do not confirm it's human bones.

It seems a bit to soon for a body if it is hers to have decomposed to a skeleton ??? It can take several years for a body to become a skeleton, obviously temperature and conditions in which the body were kept can speed things up, I guess I am just trying to remain positive :(

They were searching a dam I think, but that's all I know.

I hope it's not her, but if Sabre's sources are correct, it would be a tragic development. All on the day that the little girl from Dewsbury was found against all the odds.

It was in the papers yesterday that they were searching a lake after an "underworld tip off" that her body was dumped there.

I wish it was all bóllocks. The search was being conducted by the family according to the press, and this new line of investigation was started by a witness that saw something.

I agree Destro when he says it's bit too early to just find bones. But the press says it's related to Madeleine, the investigation comes from the family, so it seemed serious enough to bring.

Apparently the waters they are seeking are deep, and no light can be used because it's reflected. Everything is being done touching.
