BB, simply delete the thread please, its offensive to every moral person on this forum and particularly inappropriate in light of the recent tragedy in Norway. Completely uncalled for and unnecessary.

We need freedom of speech though, to a certain extent. Nowhere in this thread is anyone saying what happened in Norway is anything but an atrocity.

Its how we move to ensure this does not happen again, and there will be different views on this. Can't see a problem if we are all adults and say what we believe, as long as we stick to what we should and not be diks

If we were in the pub Daws and this conversation started I'd ask to change the subject. Its inappropriate, thats all. Sure, some sickos will needlessly discuss anything but I don't feel that the good natured and intelligent lads on this forum who enjoy a banter, need to lower ourselves to enter into this kind of discussion. Just because we have the freedom to do so, doesnt mean we should.

I dunno, maybe we should just talk about football and butterflies, leave everything else tucked away somewhere in case someone gets offended, as people will get offended about anything and everything, and we dont wanna rock the boat.

No mate, what I'm saying is you have to know where to draw the line. I draw it at bad taste and in light of Norway, this thread is disrespectful and in bad taste.

I don't think we should close the thread because it isn't directly related to the Norway events.

What it is though is inappropriate. Promoting a belief system or ideological thought system after a tragedy is at best bad taste, at worst inflammatory.

Wasn't it Charlton Heston who famously promoted the NRA in Michigan soon after the Columbine massacre?

Now I'm not saying this thread is doing the same but it does smack of bad taste in light of recent events. And I haven't even gone into the White Supremacist angle of those comments...

How? what has he put that speaks ill of what happened? Its something that needs to be discussed. FFS some nutjob killed over 90 people, you dont just lock him away, you need to understand him to make sure it never happens again

LOL.. my bar isn't lower, I just think discussing something is the first stop to preventing it from happening again. You can just stick your head in the sand, but that ain't gonna change anything.

This isnt the forum for it though Reg, you're right about that. The klinks are itching to book/ban/suspend anyone who says anything even remotely independent.

TBH, I've unlocked the thread because I'd like to hear Bam's rationale for raising this issue when he did and in the way he did. He doesn't offer much in terms of his own views on the cut-and-paste stuff in the thread opener (although I sense an implied endorsement). But, in his second attempt at cut-and-paste, we do get an acknowledged direct link to Breivic in the first few lines. So what's up Bam? Are we to understand that you have some sympathy for the "Frankfurt School-->Cultural Marxism-->multiculturalism-->political correctness" conspiracy theory? If so, are you comfortable with the fact that Breivic (and other far-right extremists who post and share and endorse the article you excerpted in the first post) share similar views? Is this the kind of meaty discussion you wish to have? Or is this really just a twisted wind-up attempt?

I think its probably a wind up, but it does lead to an itneresting premise, and something that needs to be discussed, if only to show how people feel, how angry some people are, and how the governements lack of doing anything is just upsetting the people, and the left go more left, the right go mroe right. Civil wars will ensue, the world as we know it is coming to an end unless something is done to educate the people and sort out the way people live and co-exist
