Noticed on the video they said she was from Assam, thats where this chilli's from, she's probabily been brought up eating them like smarties.

In the end you don't want it too spicy because you won't enjoy the taste of the dish

There is NO taste when you stick one of these Ghost chillies in the dish ! Just the fires of hell exploding in your mouth and throat.

DO NOT try this if your a Madras/Jalfrezi type of guy.

Seriously its not for the faint hearted :D :D

OK, I fought the chilli and the chilli won, but I went down munching.

Round by Round report

1st mouthfull, "wow, that's hot !

2nd mouthfull, "Kinell that's really hot"

3rd mouthfull, I'm already reaching for some Raita (a cooling yoghurt and cucumber mix) as the temperature in my mouth ramps up to what seems like molten lead.

4th, mouthfull, I'm quickly descending into a world of pain

some minutes later

5th mouthfull, I think I'm beginning to hallucinate, my vision is swamped with tears but I swear my spoon is doing a Yuri Geller and is bending back when I try put it in the curry.

6th mouthfull, In an attempt to stop me, my spoon has now made several attempts to stab me in the eye, however having lost all co-ordination these attempts have so far been unsuccessful.

7th and final mouthful, I'm now  a gibbering idiot, reduced to spooning the curry in the general direction of my face, bits of it have dropped onto my forearm and I think the flesh is beginning to blister :( .

I throw in the towel but it takes well over 30 mins of further burning before my mouth returns to something approaching normal.

The aftermath.
Had a dump this morning, my ringpiece feels like it's been worked on with an oxy-acetylene torch, bog paper feels like sand paper, I'm having to wipe it with ice-cubes, I'm a shadow of the man I used to be.   :sniffle

I still love curry  :buttrock :D

Glad you survived, mate, but I think you made a crucial error in thinking this stuff was meant to be eaten.  According to Wikipedia, it's main applications do not involve fine dining. :D

Uses

The pepper is used in India in homeopathic preparations for stomach ailments. It is also used as a spice as well as a remedy to summer heat, presumably by inducing perspiration in the consumer. In northeastern India, the peppers are smeared on fences or incorporated in smoke bombs as a safety precaution to keep wild elephants at a distance.

As a weapon

In 2009, scientists at India's Defence Research and Development Organisation announced plans to use the peppers in hand grenades, as a non lethal way to flush out terrorists from their hideouts and to control rioters. It will also be developed into pepper spray as a self defense product.

So, Woof, did you flush out any intestinal terrorists this morning?
