More seriously. I spent a number of years in South Africa . Blacks were Black , Whites where white and mixed race people where classified as "coloured" . In my experience the black nations of south africa , Zulu, Xhosa etc did not consider the people of mixed race to be Black (or White) and referred to them (when speaking politely) as coloured, as did the white population.
At the same time coloured people did not consider themselves as being Black, in fact many where offended if they were referred to as being Black ( don't ask me why, I guess it's not just white people who can be racist) .

Thats definitely true Misty and my "obsevations" are in no way supportive of the system and consequential mind set in South Africa at that time.
The politics of South Africa in the '70's where the prime reason I elected to leave what was one of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen.
