As far as I know, its not Mac based yet!!!  I hate Macs, though I appreciate their power in Editing and stuff like that (as thats what I use to do Editing) dont know if I would ever buy one though....Its like going from a Nokia phone to a bloody Motorola!

Sorry Andy, but you really are missing out, I mean I would suggest if you can get hold of a cheap (but decent PC) then do so, just to use the Torrents!!

Another great thing you can do (dont mean to rub it in Andy :D) id for example, say you missed an episode of 'Lost' or whatever, then you can d/load just the one episode!!!
If anyone wants to know how you do this:

You would try and d/load the whole series of Lost (probably about 4/5 gig) but when it asks you to start now or later, all you do is, untick all the episodes you dont need and leave the one/s you want to d/load ticked, and it will only d/load the releveant ones....thats what I do if I miss an episode due to work or football etc;
:)

i have actually thought of doing just that, getting a PC as my 'media centre'. my macs are my work horses, my living, and are getting filled up with all sorts of apps and files that are for more entertainment purposes. and i don't like to mix up the stuff on my machines.

as much as i love macs for their power, quality and operating system i do believe that a decent PC would be a better leisure machine for gaming, movies and music.

or maybe i should just spend more time working and less at leisure... :D

Nah, you gotta have some leisure time Andy, come on...All work and no play!! ???
But defo, if you can get a PC as your media centre definetly makes sense to me, doesnt have to be some super computer, just decent really!!

Do you mind me asking what you use your mac for (in terms of work!!) do you do Editing or anything like that Andy?

seeing as you asked so nicely, karim :)

i'm an artist, but in a way that is hard to describe. i make installations using elements of robotics, sound, living things like crickets and bacteria and plants, video, artificial intelligence etc etc etc...

my main software is max/msp - a multimedia programming environment, though i also use final cut pro for editing video, photoshop, an open source modelling app called blender and a bit of python programming.

if you're interested in seeing what i do have a look at my fecking ace website

:D

What is the d/load speed Gary?  Doubt its ya computer, might just be that not many people sharing it, stuff like that WILL take a little longer, but its worth it in the end!!

35 is decent could be higher (depending on your connection, if you on standard broadband max you will get would be 60kbs) but you will find that the d/load speed always fluctuates, best thing is to leave over night!!!

Also, choke the upload speed...To Do this:
Go to preferences in top right hand corner, and set the upload speed to about 18-24 and this should speed it up slightly, if you find it does the opposite and slows down, then leave at 'No limit'.......BTW G-MAc, how big is the file ya d/loading?
