All this talk of what's his face spending 60 mill on his daughters wedding got me thinking.... you've probably all done this at some stage too...

So you've won 60 million on the lottery... what do you spend it on...

Me I dont need to go silly on a place to live, so I reckon 5 mill would get me 3 or 4 really nice places around the world.

Subtotal 5 mill

Toys.... cars and bikes, say a Lambo, top of the range MV Augusta, a Range Rover for the shopping etc. maybe a AC Cobra for when the weather's good... oh and better make that 5 of each (1 of each in each country) I reckon another 6 mill would cover that lot easily.

Subtotal 11 mill.

Better splash out a bit on the family and in laws too I guess. Say 5 mill between the lot of 'em?

Subtotal 16mill

Maybe a decent motor yacht to cruise between properties...  nothing Abramovich size just a modest 10mill jobbie...

Subtotal 26mill

Oh , forgot furnishings and entertainment systems etc for the houses, another 5 mill say?

Subtotal 31 mill

Starting to struggle now....

Better ensure that I've got a steady source of income now I wont be working... perhaps a decent established little company something that can generate around 500K -1Mill a year just to top things up - allow 10mill

Subtotal 41mill

Bugger still 19 million to go...

5 mill to charities of my choice....

That leaves 14mill in the bank for emergencies and *cough* day to day living expenses.... :eyebrow

Any one got any suggestions?

Personally, the first thing I'd buy is a top-of-the-range Jaguar XKR (The first series rather than the brand new one.)
£100k for all the trimmings.

Then I'd buy a massive mansion with a pool, indoor 5-a-side pitch and tennis courts.
The furnishings and electronics would probably take the total cost to £8m.

I'd also give money away to friends and family.
£3m to parents, £2m to my Grandma, £2m to Aunties, uncles and cousins (£2m per family), £2m to both of my brothers, £1m each to my 4 best mates. £1m to the woman's Ma and Pa.
£18m there, subtotal £26.1m.

A season ticket and an executive box at Anfield. No idea on the price though. Probably £60k

The rest of the cars:

All top-end Jags, a Rolls Royce Corniche, Bentley Continental GT, Aston Martin DB7, Voltane and Vantage.
A modified Audi TT for the wench.

£5m at the most.
Subtotal: £31.16m.

Then I'd bank the rest and live off the interest which, in a sh*tty little account offering 5% annual interest, would net me a nice £1.56m per annum.

Not bad.

Not bad at all.

I forgot the Charities.

Basically I'd give £5m to Cancer research.

Lol... then the real fun begins... you've already bought the house and toys, now what do spend £1.56m a year on?  That's £30k a week.... come to think of it that's what quite a few premier league players are on....

Okay:

I'd build my own mansion, nothing too flash, but with lots of land (woods, fields, gardens, etc, etc) so that would run up around £4million.

An apartment in Manhatten and a flat in Knightsbridge so call that another £3million

I'd give my mum and dad £2million each, so thats another £4million.

A couple of Triumphs, a couple of Harleys, a Hummer and a Lambourghini Cala. Call that another £3million (with garage)

So that's... £14million

Say £2million on some cool stuff for the houses, £5million to IFAW and a box at Anfield (I'd like the Kop, but I like the whole power trip thing), a Picasso for around £4million (doesn't have to be The Weeping Woman or anything like that, but I know a couple of nice ones I'd go for) and a decent yacht.

So I'd have around £35million left which would go straight in a high-intrest bank account earning 11.5% which means I could live off around £4,000,000 a year and not touch the bulk of my money.

I would have a lovely house in the following places:

Tasmania - for the Aust. summer
North Coast New South Wales (Byron Bay region)
Greece - a nice little 70 square villa on Santorini perhaps but away from the touristy places.
Italy - Somewhere on the Mediteranean coast and near a shopping meca so the wife could enjoy an annual 'binge'

All of these places would have 1-2 domestic staff. My fulltime chef would travel with me.   :D

Not too concerned about cars. Maybe a nice little sporty model and something that would allow my wife and I to travel in comfort. All drive myself.

A splendid yacht (sail, none of this 'stink boat' for me). Something around the 'Super Maxi' (80-100ft) region, well fitted out but sufficiently 'lightweight' to allow top level ocean racing. This yacht would be based on the Great Barrier Reef and be leased out to 'rich' tourists when I'm not using it.

An investment property portfolio with properties around the world (includes a property manager/accountant)

A 'share' in a nice little executive jet (I don't need it exclusively, that would be austentatious!!).

Tickets to: F.A. Cup, Champions League Final, World & European Cup finals. An exec box at Anfield would be nice but I'm hoping Dick Parry would invite me into his!!!  :;):

I would be generous to family and friends but would purchase property rather than hand over cash.

Donations to a few of my favourite charities but in the form of  on-going benefit schemes rather than a cash donation.

A footballing scholarship (means tested) for a handful of Aussie players to permit them to try and 'break into the big time' but with the agreement if they made it 'big time' they too would donate 5% of their annual earnings to the 'foundation'.

Yeah, I could be happy with that.

:D

Also, in my first 2 years I'd get a Chateau in southern France which is my one of my ancestral homes and a small Island in my other ancestral home, Scotland. £3 million out of £8 million from the interest which means I would have to be sensible in my first two years and restict my spending to a meagre £2.5million a year.  :D

Makes we wonder why all these people with 100's of million or more aren't donating more to the community! After you've spent 30-40mill the rest is pretty much surplus isnt it?

I'd also buy about 200 sq. miles of land in the Yukon and build a log cabin there (well - have one built!!!!!!!!!lol!).

Mountains, snow, snow, snow snow, a lake, an open log fire and more snow.

Oh yes.  :nod

I just love the snow - it's my favourite kind of weather.

I also like the thought of taking "The One" there, hundreds of miles from anyone, and sh*gging like bunnies without the constant bombardment of bullsh*t one is faced with everyday in society!!!!!  :D
