Just posting it cos I think he was unfairly treated by Houllier and cos of his kind words.

Aboubacar 'Titi' Camara says Guinea's place in the African Cup of Nations quarter finals will be one of the highlights of a career that is still tinged with regret at leaving Liverpool.

Camara left Anfield under a cloud in December 2000 after falling out with Reds boss Gerard Houllier, which prompted him to hand in a transfer request and a subsequent move to West Ham.

The former Marseille, Lens and St Etienne forward said: "At Liverpool, I was lucky enough to be playing for a great club, but unfortunately things didn't go well with Gerard Houllier.

"I would have liked to have continued my career there, but that's football, that's destiny.

"The memories I have from Anfield will stay with me right until my final days," said the 31-year-old.

He showed flashes of brilliance, but never really consistent enough (sounds like Heskey from that description!) I would have liked him as a fourth striker, would be interesting to dig up his career stats. It was somewhat surprising we signed him though, I believe he was not even a 1st choice at Marseille

So what - isn't Diouf like two times African footballer of the year. There are only two or three decent teams in the African Nations Cup. It is surprising they bothered inviting sixteen, I mean Benin and DR Congo ffs!

He done well for us when Owen and Fowler both got injured but we needed to move to the next level.

He certainly out-shone Diouff and Diao in the tournament.
