I was wondering who won it? I heard Gerrard was in with a chance.

Or is it being decided later today? ???

Again, apologies, if it's already being discussed.

It was in the papers at the weekend that Ronaldinho was an absolute shoe in and nobody else was ever seriously considered.

Theres only one winner really, Ronaldinho has been head and sholders above anyone this year, hes more talented than anyone and he deserves to be honoured for them.

If Ronaldinho is that good, how come he didn't win the CL final? ??? Nice to see, perhaps, he's the one you fancy to see, but if you ask me I'd preffer to have Fat Lampard's goals as a midfielder, or Gerrard, if a genius of the lamp granted me one desire for my Spanish liga team.

It's been a lot since I don't care about this awards, as I read once here "I don't give a flying f*ck"

Its not just about whos themost talented player otherwise Ronaldinho would win it every year. It about the players contribution to their team. And i think it wil be close with our man winning the European Cup and Ronaldinho with La Liga. But im sure that winning a competition like the Champions League should be enough to eclipse any domestic victory.

Carragher deserves it for his heriocs playing through chronic cramp during the end of the Champions League final. A modern day Liverpool legend.

I agree Wrighty, last year Carra was out and out our best player.

Keepers, and defenders have been and will always be underrated in importance, though :(

I'd pick Carra every day of the week. If (as bavlondon said) it's about contribution to a team, then JC p*sses all over every player around. The man would play bare-foot on broken glass for LFC, and at times almost did so last season.

JC to win, or it's all a load of b*llocks.

So did anyone think Tiago or Benni Mcarthy or Jorge Costa or Carlos Alberto deserved the award last year??? They won the final 3 nil remember

Dont get me wrong JC has been unreal for the past 18 months but theres no way he would get recognised for an award like this, admitedly a shame but were talking about whos gonna win it and there is only Ronaldinho for me

Didnt Tiago come from Benfica mate ? :p

But you are dead right about the award, Carragher will not get the recognition he deserves outside of Merseyside let alone Europe.

Ronaldinho will p@ss the award.

No Question . this fella is up there with the wizards of football on top of everything he's conjured during his career , his goals against Madrid last week were sheer 'effin magic.

Gets my vote .
