mcteer was an exciting signing for evans, he always played him out of position so never really saw the best of him.

I remember reading somewhere when the 'Spice Boys' were at there peak that McAteer was in the top three right backs in European football!!! I liked the guy and wish him well but he was never anywhere near that good!

McAteer was on Irish telly the other night having a right laugh on a Big Brother type programme. This was the day after Sunderland failed to make promotion.I think that was part of Mcateers problem, having a laugh was more important than playing football.Reminds me of the old jason story, when he signed for Liverpool he applied for his first credit card, filling in the "What is your position at the company" question on his  application form he wrote: Right back.

He's such a great laff!!! I had a good pint of lager with him about 7 years ago in the nightclub.

I am sure he will find new club very soon, no problem at all!

Jasons never bent eh brighest bulb in the box, reminds me a little bit of Stevie Nicoll in the braisn dept :p  Another one of sadly many LFC signings that came witha  big repuatation only to under achieve. Blame it on poor management or maybe the pressure gest to them but all too often these players arrive and fail to live up to expectations.

On a  more positive note i loved it when he motioned to Keane "Write that in your book" when they had a scuffle a few seasons back ....priceless :D

On Question of Sport a few years back he said that he'd just about finished his own book. (Cue: Raised eyebrows from Sue Barker etc) then Jason says "And when I've finished that one, I'm gonna start colouring in me next one!!"

Bit of a comic, our Jase
