I just wanted to share this with all you buggers that are so close to Germany and will be going to watch 2006 World Cup...

I'M GOING TOO!!! :buttrock

Now all I have to do is get tickets!!! It's only a small tournament and not too many people will want to go and watch the Aussies so there are bound to be tons of tickets left over!!! (note to self: offer up plenty of prayers to ANY God who has any influence with FIFA)

Easy come...easy go!!

Have just discovered that tickets have to be completely paid for by January 6th...I can't do that, so that's my world cup campaign in ruins.

I knew I should have shut my mouth until I had the tickets in my hand. BUGGER!!!

is it a lottery? pay for the tickets and then find out later if you have them or not?

i think they did that before

Not a raffle as such. Application form available tomorrow (Monday) morning. E-mail the completed application at 9am Tursday morning...notified Tuesday/Wednesday of success (if you don't hear from them you missed out & FIFA only supplied a total of 8000 ticket packages so the chances are slim anyway). You are then required to pay a $1000 deposit for each ticket with the FULL balance by January 6th. I can't scrape all that money together without applying to extend the credit card limit. So that's the end of it for me.

On the positive note, the good wife feels so sorry for me that she has agreed we should get the 42" plasma screen...now THAT is a reasonable compensation!!!

i was toying with idea myself as i got leave in June, but i think i just head back to Thailand again and get :censored:

btw looks of it Lionheart your chances would have been very slim anyway, they reckon its going to be a 90 percent disappointment rate

I must admit...the bar in Thailand does sound tempting. I wonder if I could convince my wife that I have tickets to the world cup, with a stop over in Thailand, and just make the stop over the final destination. Do you think she'd buy it?? :cool:

Just bring her along, push her towards the night markets and she can shop for the next week, and it only cost you about 50 bucks
