One thing that impressed me last night was the formation we played. I think the one thing we've lacked for a long time is that holding role. King played it well, i think someone like Carrick would suit it better though.

I've heard some idiots saying Lampard and Gerrard can't play together, if we play the midfield with a holding role why can't they play together. Whats stopping Gerrard replacement that waste of space Joe Cole on the left??

personally I thought Joe Cole looked dangerous......I thought that neither Beckham nor Gerrard were missed particularly.

England have a lot of choice in midfield, but you can't argue with having the pace on the wings like we had last night.

I don't think we''ll see the old lampard, gerrard, beckham formation again....at least I hope not.

i agree i hope we play the holding midfielder formation from now on.

I didn't think Joe Cole had a bad game I just think there is no reason for another right footed player such as Gerrard to replace him. I think Gerrard has much more potential to impact a game than J Cole
