My friends mentioned it the other day, none of us have been before. Anyone got any ideas about costs? Are there any packages? How do you go about getting tickets?

There will be an application process. Each Association will have an allocation per match. You can also apply to FIFA.

.. and then there's the black market :D

Like Saint, we've been saving for this one. Little one's gonna be with me Ma, and we're gonna try and get to see some of the favourites .. can't wait  :)

Costs.. depends if ure gonna sleep in a 'tent' or in the Hilton :D couple of grand per person after tickets and yer Credit Card, just in case :D

I've already booked to spend two months out in Portugal between April and June inclusive 2006.  It's going to be my "Lost Weekend" as I'll be 26 years old by then and I need to do some shit while I'm young enough to do it.  I'm just going to work out there etc...  and pretty much party as much as I do here in Liverpool.  So no change.

That's my plan for next year anyway.  Whether it happens or not is a different story.

But my brother and I are planning on going to spend some time out there in Germany while the World Cup is on as barmen in some random German towns, so I'll see you there.

Well the next one's in Africa, and then it will likely be in the Americas, so even one match with an over night stay woud be worth a try.. and some of the tickets are cheaper than watching a Premiership game...

I'm hoping to be able to come over but unlike you guys who just have a nice little day trip, for us passionate Australians it's going to cost a bomb. I have done some calculations and to see all of Australia's three group matches, 1 quarter final, 1 semi & 1 final, I am looking at close on $A20,000 (approx. 9000 british pounds). For the first time ever I am having to seriously think about this decision.

I guess the wife will have to postpone the boob job and the kids can catch up on their education at a later date!!!!   :p

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.        BILL SHANKLY
