Should Glen Roeder have been allowed to coach Newcastle when you take into account all the circumstances?

No.  What's the point in having these qualifications if you are allowed to manage without them?  Why should other managers have to put the time in to do the course and Roeder doesn't?

It'll end in tears anyway, Roeder will be out by Christmas.

Its not as if he's an unqualified doctor or soemthing at the end of the day its football.  What I want to know is why hasnt he done them and if its a big deal why isnt he being stopped from coaching.

If you have a rule then enforce it or get rid of the rule or make the rule more workable

I say let him have the job. It's not his fault that it's only him that wants the newcastle job :D

He started doing the course when he was with West Ham, but he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had to resign to have the time to be treated. He intends to do the course this season.

Under the circumstances, yes.

It's not like he couldn't be bothered to get the qualifications, is it?

Good luck to him. (But I still expect 6 points from Newcastle next season!!!!! :D)

Apparently Paul Jewell & Big Sam Allardyce weren't real pleased. Freddie Sheppard hinted though that they may have been interested in it. Case of sour grapes?

I'd still say that Roeder is better than Souness as a coach.  :D

Yeah... why not?

With his health problems, it's not been his fault that he hasn't gotten all the qualifications is it?
