Pongolle really did a good job last season with all the injuries of other players.  He could've been our right winger, like CIGGY said.

This hasn't been a good week at all.  Michael Owen better be wearing a LFC kit by the end of the week.

Rafa has not put the Cisse rumour fires out tho, which he could easy do, and this is twice in 2 days now of rumours of Pongolle leaving, Le Tallec is his cousin he must have said f*ck this im out of here again. If he leaves this has got to be a french exodus of the ex managers players.
Suprised traore has been given a new contract TBH  :O

Florent Sinama-Pongolle is in line for a shock move to Lyon. The French u21 striker has recently returned from injury, and has been in impressive form for the reserves, scoring a goal in each of the two games he has appeared in. TLW has been informed however that he is headed back to his homeland, with Lyon almost certainly the destination.

Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage, and a deal is expected to be finalised soon. The news will come as a shock to many, as with the severe lack of options available to Rafa Benitez on the right wing, Sinama-Pongolle had been expected to push for a place in the first team.

The player is rumoured to be unsettled after what happened at the end of last season, when he and several others were left behind as the team toured the city on an open top bus. Missing out on a Champions League medal also added to his disillusionment, and barring a last minute hitch he is set to leave the club before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.

Rafa said to cisse to ignore the papers and that there had been no bids

he was that p*ssed off with the club, after missing out on a CL medal

He was injured, so there was nothing he or the club could have done.

FLO TO LYON TRANSFER SHOCK
Internet Report 23 August 2005

Florent Sinama-Pongolle is in line for a shock move to Lyon, reports the Liverpool Way website.

The French Under-21 striker has recently returned from injury, and has been in impressive form for the reserves, scoring a goal in each of the two games he has appeared in.

At this point we are not sure if the deal is a loan or permanent transfer.

Erm so was Josemi and how many games did Nunez play in the CL, Mellor and Pongo should have gotten medals. They have been at the club longer and scored goals that made a contribution on us progressing on to win it.
What did josemi do?

According to what i know, i don't think that Pongolle and Le Tallec are cousins. Florent-Sinama is from Reunion Island(French Colony in the Indian Ocean) and Le Tallec from Hennebont in France. It's just that they were in the le Havre academy together.

I thought you had to be part of the starting 11 or a sub or part of the coaching staff to get a medal.

The club get 25 medals to distribute, so therefore I feel rafa or Gerrard should have said to Nunez and Josemi hold yer horses before you get on that podium, there are other players that deserve these medals before you 2.
And they could have easily bumped a few people off the first flight, Xabis girl and Kewells one and f*ckin Diao, and let pongo, Mellor and Warnock on the first flight. :veryangry
