Everton v Liverpool 12/02 19:30 KO

Last Derby at Goodison under Moyes, how poetic. Atmosphere will be electric, this will be their final. Them lot are going through a new manager bounce. They've won their last few EPL games. Form goes out the window in games like this. They always want to dent our chances so tomorrow will be no different. From VVD injury, to time wasting by D1kford, these lot are a scummy team. I think in 18/19 the pendulum swung with City after we drew against Everton...Also last season they beat us 2-0 in April, denting our chances.

As this is a rearranged game we welcome them at Anfield next month.

We've got a tough few games ahead so must keep momentum going.

Hopefully our quality will show and will see this through.
My worry is the first half, we start quite slow and them lot will be pumped. Taking first half lead to silence the crowd would be ideal. Aim should be not to conceed and maintain composure.

Lets win this and not let Arsenal have a sniff, let's maintain that 9 point gap.

The bitters are going to be desperate to win this one so we're going to have to be super careful. There will be goals for sure....

If we win, Slot will be lauded for resting players to ensure our title charge remains on track.

If we lose, he'll have heaped a whole lot of pressure on the team for 2 duff results on the bounce.

Either way, it's going to be a tough game. The bitters will be out to wreck our title challenge. We'll need an early goal to shut up the crowd.

Let's do this!  :buttrock

This will be a test, their players, fans, staff, stewards, tea ladies you name it are going to be so up for this it will be untrue, our players need to be equally as up for it its as simple as that.
Never thought i'd say this but i will miss the arl place, i'm getting on a bit these days and footy has been a major part of my life, its given me some of the best days of my life and helped get me through some of the worst, Goodison, for all its faults, along with many, many other places like Old Trafford, Highbury, Villa Park etc etc has been part of the background scenery/backdrop to my life.
Tomorrow night really will be one of those moments of genuine pathos for me, one of those Lon Chaney hangs up his werewolf costume for the last time/heel wrestler calls it a day moments when the guy you love to hate, the butt of all your jokes takes his final curtain call and bows out gracefully leaving you wondering why you disliked him so much and where the hell all the years have gone. Oh well, thats life i suppose, and getting old.
When we are in the lions den tomorrow and on the menu as per usual, when nerves and tempers are fraying in equal measure, given its our last time there i think it might be worth reminding ourselves that in this clubs darkest hour, when everyone either believed the lies or wanted to believe the lies peddled by the police and the press Goodison Park was the only place certainly in England where we could find an arm around the shoulder and indeed a shoulder to cry on.
Anyway back to the game, come on reds this is everything on the line time, opportunities like this dont come around all that often, time to write history, time to be champions.
So goodbye Goodison Park, i believe the council have got big plans for you which knowing the dickheads who run this city will mean you'll end up a petrol station, supermarket or car park but whatever undignified carbuncle they turn you into i'd just like to say thanks for the memories and i'll never forget you.
So good luck and God's-speed Goodison Park, its been emotional...it really has.

I agree yakka, it will be an emotional farewell to Goodison for both Everton and Liverpool fans alike. Unfortunately that also means they will be fired up for this which is the last thing we need in a title challenge. Form goes out of the window for this but they are in fact in decent form, 3 wins in their last 3 matches. Will be a super tough game, I just hope we won't have any injuries to our players after this.

I'm nervous about this one tomorrow. There's a lot of emotion on the Everton side about this one. I would expect the Bitters to chase, harry, harass, kick, bite, punch, whatever they think will unsettled our lads.
I think it could be a draw but hoping for the 3 points.
I dint think I'd be too upset if Pickford made a couple of howlers, only because it's him

I used to go to Goodison on a Friday night with my pals to watch whoever it was they were playing just to have the enjoyment of going to a game, then go to Anfield the next day for a real game. 45 years ago.... Half the crowd were 7 sheets to the wind before kick off!

Team news

Everton left-back Vitalii Mykolenko could feature despite missing the FA Cup defeat by Bournemouth at the weekend with a minor calf issue.

New signing Carlos Alcaraz made his debut as a substitute during that match.

Nathan Patterson, Seamus Coleman, Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti all remain sidelined.

League leaders Liverpool will be without defender Joe Gomez, who limped off 11 minutes into his return from a hamstring injury in Sunday's FA Cup defeat by Plymouth.

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold has resumed training after a two-match injury absence and might return.

A lot of people used to do that including my arl fella, when we were a second division side in the mid 50's and we were away and Everton were at home a lot of Liverpool fans would head over to Goodison to see the big teams and star players of the era. In that pre MOTD day era before footy was on television it was the only way to see the Billy Wright's, Duncan Edwards's, Nat Lofthouse's, Tom Finney's etc etc play.

Team to play Everton: Alisson, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Diaz, Gakpo

Trent on the bench to come on at 70 mins and score our 3rd goal  :buttrock

If we play the team and not the occasion we win this by a few.
