I was really worried when after 15 minutes we got complacent and took our foot off the gas. Whew ! we managed to hold on for the win !  :D

More seriously, I actually felt sorry for Sparta , totally outplayed and embarrassed by our lads. Hat's off too their fans at the game. Whilst I'm watching at home on tv they seemed too be making the most supportive noise despite their team being crushed.

Agreed. Their fans were top class. Same as the other fans who were at Anfield this season - USG, was it? Superb stuff.
Terrible to see the gulf in quality, even against a far less experienced LFC. Shows we belong in the CL. Last night's fayre wasn't great, and I reckon we would have beaten any of the teams in it. But, we had a shyte year last year and that's the price you pay.
Nice to see the polish Messi get a first team bow too. It feels like I've been reading about him for years, and I thought he had actually gone to a club in Poland. Looks like he needs a few quarter pounders though....

Job done !! As quite a few people have already said Sparta fans were a class act. Maybe some of the sh1tbag supporters in the premiership could learn something !!

It was a demolition that was complete after 10 minutes, the adrenalin wore off for both the players and crowd.
Great win, hopefully we can do it again on Sundee.

Yeah the fans were loud but coming from an eastern block country myself (sort of), fans around here are like that all the time, but the thing is they're not really there to support the team as much as they are there to support themselves. Being the loudest fans that never stop singing is their goal but a lot of them might not even know half of the players in their team. Basically they're there for the hooliganism or whatever and not for the football. Might look nice to people that haven't lived that life but it's not my cup of tea.
