The logic is to show the lads off to the massive Asian reds fanbase. They're as crazy about the lads as we are and it's their only chance to see them play for 12 months. I'm for it.

I know why we do them Reg and I am all for it but what I'm questioning is that it's there and back in less than a week with 2 games thrown in. We would have been better off heading out earlier for at least 3 weeks. It takes at least 2 or 3 days to adjust either side of a trip like that.

Anyway a 27 man squad headed off with a few absences like Thiago and Bajcetic who remained behind to continue rehab. Going by Klopps recent comments we should see something like the 11 we will be starting the season with for at least 60 to 70 minutes in both games. Much better competition as well so looking forward to seeing how we stack up.

There is only 2 recovery days between between Leicester and Bayern so I'd be surprised if many outfield players start both of them.

Better first half than some of the other games

First 15-20 minutes I saw the defensive weakness that we were seeing last season, then they tightened things up and looked more solid. I thought MacAlister looks like a clever player and will probably play the Firmino role very well, although he may not get as many interceptions as a prime Firmino did. Salah while not being as precise as usual brought others into play. Trent looks like he is leaner this year and a step faster, I think he will have a breakout year this year, he looks ready. Darwin looks sharper, he did last preseason too but hopefully this year he will keep the preseason form up.

Second half and a complete change of team. They could easily have become disorganized but they kept up the pressure and never let Leicester back in the match. Best preseason performance so far, we will see how we look against the first good team we play on Wednesday as so far all we have played were second tier sides.

Looking okay so far, I’d like to see us play with a slightly higher tempo but we were playing in the tropics to be fair.
Going to be interesting to see who starts against Chelsea

I’d like to see our two new midfielders playing together, hopefully we see that against BM

Yeah if the plan is to start the season with Mac and szobo then give them game time now when there’s nothing riding on the result so they can iron out any creases in their MF partnership.

Friendly vs Bayern kicks off at 12.30pm UK time. Should be a good test.

I don't think Jones is gonna be strong enough for this CDM role, he's getting shrugged off of the ball way too easy.

2.0 now. Van Dijk free header from a corner.
