We were lucky tonight and stole that in the end. We really need to improve quickly.

We need to stop going behind.. it encourages time wasting. We were really lucky tonight. Glad we got the winner it was frustrating watching another team do everything they can to slow down our momentum.

As a former LFC manager once said (many times)...

We showed great character tonight  :D

You reap what you sow, NUFC should have been happy with the point and not wasted time. We were lucky to get all thress points although once again the stats are misleading:
Liverpool finish with 71% of possession.
Liverpool have 23 goal attempts to Newcastle's five.
Liverpool had 13 corners to Newcastle's none.
Newcastle gave away 11 fouls to Liverpool's nine.

Is our preferred tactic this season to wherever possible give the opposing team a one goal start ?  :eyebrow

Not saying the win was undeserved but we rode our luck last night

Newcastle were only marginally offside for a second goal, I think our high press is getting found out far too often. Teams have sussed it as a weakness and are taking advantage game after game. A tactical rethink needed  ?

Congrats to Elliot who was my MoM last night.

It was a life-saving goal by Cavalho (who should play instead of disappointing Salah)  as a whole was a very disappointing performance, and once again Trent was responsible for the goal after his wayward giveaway pass. The defense is quite shambolic and most stop leaking awful goals.
I thought  Elliot was  MoM.

Good Luck Lads

Just how lucky were we? Newcastle certainly became masters of the dark arts. Only one team really tried to win that game. Bit of a shame that we had to rely on the incredible talents of a couple of 10 year olds due to injuries and suspensions !! Mo created 6 chances with 2 assists - just a bit of info for anybody that is concerned about his form. Frankly I think we actually deserved a bit of luck. Now for the blue monster. We need to make sure they that they stay on 3 points after 6 matches. Just who will be the next manager of the bitters ???
