Liverpool v Man City, Community Shield – Sat 30 Jul/5pm

It's not quite a Premier League or Champions League game, and it will still be used as preparation for the new season, but probably worth it's own thread considering the opposition. With the Women's EURO final kicking off at the same and being held at Wembley/shown on the BBC, this year the Community Shield is being held at the King Power Stadium and shown live on ITV.

Alisson (back for the 1st PL game), Kelleher, Ramsay, Tsimikas, Ox, and Jota, all look likely to miss the game through injury. I wonder if Klopp may give Nunez some more training and the opportunity to watch some games from the sidelines before throwing him into games from the start.

                                   Adrian

Trent               Konate               van Djik               Robbo

           Hendo              Fabinho              Thiago

             Salah              Firmino              Diaz

Looking forward to this tbh. Hope we go with a good strong 11 to start.
And Nunez to outshine Haaland!!

I'm guessing both Nunez and Haaland start on the bench and play the last 20-30 minutes. Only been with their new teams a few weeks.

I think leaving Nunez out would probably just delight all the naysayers and send the twitterati crowd into overdrive so I’d start with the lad myself.
The quicker he feels at home the less anxious he will be ergo the sooner we’ll see the best of him. Throw him in, what happens in the Charity Shield usually gets forgotten about in 2 or 3 days anyway but because of all the hype surrounding the England womens team if he has a stinker it will be forgotten within 24 hours. In a way todays game is a free hit for the lad. As I say I’d throw him in, it will be good experience for him.

City are starting to get on top here, we need to start stringing a few passes together, struggling to keep hold of the thing
